• A:Answer No, this is strictly for hard copy photographs, documents and receipts. If you want to scan color and B&W negatives and 35 mm slides, I highly recommend the KODAK Slide N Scan 7" digital film scanner. You will need a SD card to transfer the scanned images to your computer. The scanner comes with what you need to transfer your images. Imaging manipulation software is NOT included.

• A:Answer Not as far as I know. It’s an input device. Its software creates a digital file that I import into my computer’s photo app. The softwarw gives each file a unique name. I doubt it would have a way of knowing if you’d scanned the same photo twice. A computer’s photo app might have a way of doing that after the import.

• A:Answer Photos are stored on your connected computer. There is an option to specify where you want your photos to go, I highly recommend that you specify your destination prior to scanning, otherwise you'll have a mess to sort through. You can specify years, seasons and so forth prior to scanning.

Q: QuestionCan you scan photos smaller than 4x6? I have several old pictures that are 4x4 or 2 1/2 x 4. Would these scan on this machine or would it require some type of flatbed scanner?

• A:Answer We have used it to scan many different sizes and shapes. The width is limited to the size of the machine obviously, but as long as the one edge is square, flat, and clean, it works well. Doing the same sizes together is better, but it as long as the top edges are stacked straight, it will pull them correctly.

• A:Answer I can not answer to the compatibility to the latest iPad or the ease of editing. I will say that if you are processing many photos, to prevent streaking and residue on your original photos, clean the pick up rollers after 50 or so scans. DO this especially when scanning older photos that have been stored for a long time. This isn't so much of an issue with newer processed photos. Bottom line, make it a point to inspect the rollers, it'll also help prevent misfeeds, jamming and damage to the originals.
