- Answer No it won’t record Vudu , it only records the channels you get with the antenna, and yes you need one, it won’t even let you set it up if you don’t start that process.

- Answer Is F/T Recast no longer under warranty? If not, then perhaps take it to a PC repair shop - they might have one they can sell you. It's basically a hard drive. Bet they'll have something that works.

- Answer Sadly, if you're away, your only option is the FireTV mobile app. I'm sure there's some legal or profit-driven motive, but it's definitely a pain.

- Answer This all depends on the antenna that you use and signal strength. I bought an outdoor antenna and mounted it to my roof. I downloaded an app called Antenna Point which helps you get the best signal. Use the app to find out which direction to point the antenna. With the antenna I bought, I'm able to pick up stations over 50 miles away. I have over 50 stations I pick up with this antenna. Hope this helps.

- Answer You do need an Amazon device but can use your roku also separately. I have both. And it does have an excellent guide and you don't have to pay a subscription like other dvr devices.

- Answer I don't know, I haven't figured out how to get it to record any programs yet. I understand from the instructions that it will record in the future but that's all I know at this time.

- Answer Hi there, This device gets the channels that are within range, and then puts them on the Fire TV Stream Media Player that you have. (it needs 3 parts to work. The Recast, an HD OTA Antenna and a Fire TV Stick device of your choosing) as well as Wifi. If the towers are within range, and able to be picked up by an antenna, then it would be possible. Usually you can find maps of where antenna coverage reaches to for certain towers. Hope this information is helpful. Have a great day!

- Answer You'll need an internet connection to download the Fire TV app to your Fire Tablet, Android Table, or iPad. You'll need a wireless network to connect the table with the Fire Recast. With an antenna connected to the recast you can then scan for the channels to set everything up. If you have no wireless network you may try connecting a tablet to the recast with a USB cable.
