QuestionWhile using my unit for the first time, the humidity in the room jumped tremendously. It is vented out the window per directions. Is this normal? My other unit ,by another company ,which is downstairs takes the humidity down while cooling.

Your portable air conditioner works by pulling hot air and excess moisture from the room into the unit, and pushing it through your hose and out the window, which is normal. QuestionDOE BTU is calculated by multiplying the room sq ft by 20. So a 325 sq ft room needs a DOE BTU of 6500. (325 x 20). Why does this AC claim to cool a 450 sq ft room. Shouldn't it either be 350 sqft or the DOE BTU should be 9000 (9000 / 20 = 450sqft).

QuestionThe product description says this unit is 10000 btu but the specs say 6500. Why the difference and what is it?

- Answer Because the ad uses American thermal unit measurements even though it says BTU and the spec on the box is the actual BTU -( British Thermal Units) measurement

QuestionCan you please explain the drain hose? We would use the AC unit in AC mode only, not as a dehumidifier. Is the drain hose included, or would we need to drain it some other way if necessary?

- Answer The unit comes with the drain hose you unscrew the cap with the water symbol on the back put the hose in and drain the water if any. The instructions say to do this before storage which makes me believe this only has to be done before winter storage so it should be good all summer long. I’m unsure if water accumulates though without using the dehumidifier my guess is no it does not.
