QuestionDo the maps/traffic conditions update automatically on this Garmin? Or do I have to download map updates, etc? Will leaving the Garmin plugged in be a drain on the battery? I noticed the blue light on power cord stays on even when I turn the Garmin off

- Answer Thank you for the questions! Yes, when in a traffic coverage area and the vehicle power cable connected, the Garmin DriveSmart 65 & Traffic will provide traffic updates. If the 12V DC power port in the vehicle remains on when the vehicle is turned off, then yes there is potential for battery drain. It is always recommended to unplug the power cable and device to store them while not in use.

- Answer Yes, as for updates. A notification will appear in the lower right hand corner of the screen, where the gear symbol is to notify you of updates. At that point you make sure it’s plugged in for power, make sure you have a Wi-Fi connection go to settings & start the update process.
