• A:Answer Hi- Thanks for choosing our GE Over-the-Range Microwave Oven JVM3160RFSS! The power level may be entered or changed before or during cooking. Power Level is set for Level 10 (High) unless it is changed. 1. Press Power Level button. 2 Enter new power level by using the number pads or press the Power Level button multiple times until you find the level you want. 3. After you have selected the power level, wait five seconds. The display will go back to the Cook Time screen. 4. Enter cooking time and press START. OR, 1. Press Cook Time button. 2. Enter your cooking time. 3. Press Power Level button. 4. Enter new power level by using the number pads or press the Power Level button multiple times until you find the level you want. 5. After you have selected the power level, wait five seconds. The display will go back to the Cook Time (Enter Time) screen. 6. Press START. • A:Answer On low speed the vent fan has a fairly low noise level. It is much noisier when used on the high speed. I have found the low speed to be sufficient for removing steam, etc. when using the stove top.

Q: Questionis there a way to limit the endless timer signal?The timer signal is endless. It will not cease after a reasonable period of time. I have to stop whatever I'm doing wherever I am in the house and go to the kitchen to stop the timer. I would like it to stop by itself after a reasonable period of time, for instance, 30 seconds or 1 minute. Is it possible to change this?

Q: QuestionWhere is the air exahust expelled?Where is the air exhaust expelled? Most microwaves have angled vents on top that blow the air out in front of the microwave, but I don't see them on this model (or most GE model pics for that matter).

• A:Answer I have the recirculating exhaust. it comes out the top and exits along the openings (crevices) along the body of the microwave. If you use the external exhaust option, you need a vent hole to the outside of the house. Note that the fans are rotated differently for the two options. Good luck and happy heating.

Q: QuestionI am replacing GE model JVM3160DF2BB. Is this the same model even though there is a 2 missing?

• A:Answer Yes, and no. The missing 2 is like the generation/variant of the model. I bought one last January, the handle broke off this May/June, I went through a nightmare with Best Buy to replace it with the same model, only to get one that used a different wall mount frame (there are two different ones - it's marked on the box whether the line or the U-shaped frame is inside) and differently positioned cabinet mount holes (my cabinet floor looks like swiss cheese after 3 microwaves). The ne unit also replaced the two incandescent (replaceable with LEDs) surface light bulbs with a halogen bulb that will burn you if you touch the microwave after its been on for a while. So it's the same functionality and features, but slightly different look and feel. The devil is in the details, unfortunately. Good luck! I hope this information helps save you some headache.

• A:Answer The hinge side does come off pretty hard. I got mine off without breaking it but I was questioning whether or not it was going to break. It will come off though without breaking though. Just try not to yank on it. Try to pull it with a steady pressure until it comes off.
