“We plan on putting this refrigerator in a closet with a carpeted floor inside our home-will this work? There is a solid door on the closet-does it need to stay open? Should we put a drainage pad underneath as in the fall the frig will be turned off?”

Hi gigi- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Install the unit a floor strong enough to support it fully loaded. Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation and plumbing and electrical connections: Back 2", Sides 3/4", Top 1". After these requirements have been met, there are no other restrictions or limitations concerning location when installing a refrigerator. Thanks for checking with us!
