Hello, Thank you for your interest in the GE Frost-Free Top-Freezer Refrigerator model GTH18GBDBB. I will be happy to assist you with your question on where a refrigerator can be installed. It is not recommended that refrigerators be used in unheated locations, such as garages, porches, or unheated rooms during periods when the temperature is likely to fall below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. At this temperature, the unit is less efficient and will continue to lose efficiency as the outdoor temperature decreases. At 32 degrees, there is no cooling capability at all. It should also not be installed where the temperature will exceed 110 degrees Fahrenheit. ~ Below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could become thick and not circulate properly. ~ Above 110 degrees Fahrenheit, the oil could overheat and break down. I hope this is helpful! Donna with GE .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have this refrigerator in my garage and one in my basement. The garage unit stops running or cooling in the winter due to the cold, but nothing gets warm. In the summer, the refrigerator is very cold for beverages, etc.
