Q: QuestionHow far does the dryer door open? For a corner installation, I really need it hinged on the other side but I'm thinking if it opens far enough it could still work?
Asked by LH.
- A:Answer It can open 180 degrees

Q: QuestionThe dryer uses 220/30 amp . Does the washer have a separate 30amp cord .
Asked by Eddie.
- A:Answer Hi Eddie- Unitized washer dryer units only have one power cord. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. Q: QuestionCan I wash winter parkas and if so, which cycle (bulky?). Also how about water resistant rain jacket (it's not actually waterproof). Thank you. PS I'm loving my new 24 inch spacesaver.
Asked by LILUMS.
- A:Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us. We’re so glad to hear you’re loving your new Spacesaver! We strive to provide a great ownership experience and are happy to help with these concerns. Large coats would be washed using the Bulky Items cycle. The washer has 2.3 cu. ft. of capacity, so as long as your parka will fit loosely in the drum (not squeezed in tightly or bulging past the balance ring) you should be able to wash it without issue. Regarding your water resistant rain jacket, you may want to make sure to use an appropriate detergent (depending on how water proof/water resistant the jacket is, the chemicals in normal detergent may break down the composition of the fibers) and wash the jacket by itself. You may want to use a gentle spin cycle or the Delicate cycle and check the label on the jacket to determine if there is an ideal temperature. There is also a description of the cycles and what items they’re best suited for on page 7 of your use and care manual. We hope this information is helpful, and are happy to help with any other questions or concerns you may have. Best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Q: QuestionDoes the washer have a lint filter/catcher and where is it located?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi - The washer does not have a removable lint filter. On models since 2001, the pump/drain system allows water to flow through the basket and out the bottom of the tub. There is no maintenance required on this system. Q: QuestionHi. Could you please tell me which setting used the most water and which uses the least? What is the best setting for heavily soiled clothes? Thank you.
Asked by jfxgillis.
- A:Answer Hi Jeanne - This washer uses auto-load sensing technology. The washer will automatically measure (sense) the load size and adds just the right amount of water to suit the load. Therefore, the larger/heavier the load, the more water usage. For heavily soiled clothes, choose the Heavy soil setting (Colors or Whites). Also, the chart on page 7 of the Owner's Manual will help you match the items to be washed with the best washer cycle settings. Bulky Items cycle automatically provides a maximum fill wash water level to wash bulky items and incorporates a deep fill rinse to effectively rinse bulky items. Q: QuestionCan this unit be totally drained down to allow it to remain in unheated cabin over winter?
Asked by haywardcabin.
- A:Answer Hi haywardcabin- Be sure water supply is shut off at faucets. You will need to drain all water from hoses and water filter pump area if weather will be below freezing. We suggest to ask a service technician to remove water from drain pump and hoses. After sitting in a cold environment all winter it is best to let the washer "thaw" for 24 hours at room temperature. When it's time to use the washer again, simply connect the hoses at the faucets and turn the faucets back on, plug the washer back in to wall receptacle. Asked by Need2Know.
- A:Answer Hi - The energy cost of gas and electric dryers depends on local gas and electric rates. For information about the approximate energy cost for a gas and/or electric dryer, contact your local utility company for your rates. Many utility companies may also be able to provide guidance on which would be less expensive to run in your area. Electric Dryer GUD24ESSMWW offers 3-Way Exhaust (Rear; Left; Right).
