A:AnswerHi Morina - Thanks for getting back to us. We provide the average water usage only. The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. If you feel your washer is not filling properly, see the following link- TOP LOAD WASHER - FILL FUNCTION: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=36353 - SCHEDULE SERVICE at GEAppliances.com: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm?ICID=GEARsupportflyout-service - Keep in touch! A:AnswerHi Ann- Thanks for reaching out to us. Once it starts filling, you cannot change the water temperature. The manual recommends that all selections be made before starting the washer. If you want to cancel the cycle, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds. Keep in touch! Sue

A:AnswerHi JWB1- The washer features Precise Fill. When selected, the washer will fill and rotate to distribute water on the clothing and determine how much water is required. Lid will be locked for the duration of the load sensing process, which includes a brief spin period and a portion of the water fill. It also has a heavy-duty agitator. A:AnswerHi Maddie6- Welcome to the GE Appliances Family! We are happy to provide assistance. For bulky items, only use the "Bulky Items" cycle. Using other cycles when washing bulky items can cause excessive vibration. Load dry items loosely in the washer basket. For best results, load items evenly and loosely around the outside of the basket, filling in towards the center on larger loads. Make sure the water level selected matches the load you are washing. See the following link- TOP LOAD WASHER WALKING OR VIBRATING: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 - A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. A:AnswerHi Pete- Thanks for choosing GE! New GE Appliances washer models meet or exceed the latest energy and water efficiency requirements. Therefore, you may notice that your washer fills with less water than your prior model did. This is normal. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and will provide the exceptional cleaning you have come to expect from GE Appliances. See the following link for more details- TOP LOAD WASHER - FILL FUNCTION: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=36353 - If you see a soap residue, we suggest to choose the DEEP RINSE option.
When selected, the deep rinse cycle ensure clothes are rinsed of soap residue and fabric softener.
Play Video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/fbkVOdkZJ5E?rel=0 - We also encourage you to view "Loading the Washer" and "Detergent Use" on page 15 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerHi Zena- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for considering our GE® WASHER GTW330ASKWW! Yes, you can press the Start/Pause button to pause the cycle. However, the washer will automatically drain any time the lid is left open for more than 15 minutes and water is present or if left in a paused state with the lid closed for more than 24 hours and water is present. Also, check out matching GE® 7.2 CU. FT. CAPACITY ALUMINIZED ALLOY DRUM ELECTRIC DRYER GTD33EASKWW (GTD33GASKWW GAS) or GE® 6.2 CU. FT. A:AnswerHi unhappy- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your purchase! We are sorry to hear of your disappointment and glad to offer assistance. You must remove the shipping material just before sliding the washer into place. There will be either a shipping rod, Styrofoam shipping material, or cardboard base and cardboard cone. If the shipping material has not been removed, the washer will vibrate and be noisy. We suggest to view the following link regarding the sounds you may hear: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=21894 - Also, see page 17 of the Installation Instructions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90567.pdf - To stop the washer or cancel a wash cycle, hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds. If you want to "Pause" the cycle, press the Start/Pause button. Pressing Pause will unlock the lid (if locked at that time), pause the cycle and the Pause indicator light will blink. To continue the cycle, press Start again. NOTE: Machine will automatically cancel and drain when water is present and the lid is left open for 15 minutes or the unit is left in a paused state for 24 hours with the lid closed. Select cycle and press Start to begin new cycle. We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch!
A:AnswerHello LEROY - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. Congratulations on your new washer. This washer offers the heavy duty agitator which gently pulls the clothes through the wash for a thorough clean. It is much quieter by design from older washers. We hope this helps! Thanks for choosing GE Appliances!
A:AnswerHi - Thanks for viewing GE! GE® 3.8 cu. ft. Capacity Washer with Stainless Steel Basket GTW330ASKWW is not considered HE. Top-loading and front-loading GE Appliance washers with the HE label are defined as washers that use low-water levels in wash and rinse cycles. Some GE Appliance washer models have the "HE" label on the control panel and other models do not. However, GE Appliances recommends HE (High Efficiency) detergent be used in all of our washers (past and present models) for optimum wash performance. HE detergent works best with the lower water levels used in all modern washing machines and cleans just as well as standard detergents regardless of the machine type or age. Matching Electric Dryer GTD33EASKWW (Gas GTD33GASKWW). Keep in touch! Sue
A:AnswerHello Carol - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. If installed properly, the shipping material removed, and the washer level, you should find this washer to be relatively quiet. Some normal operating noises include "Clicking" when the shifter mechanism is engaging or disengaging, back and forth swooshing, water flow sounds and flow changes, motor sounds while agitating or spinning, humming, gurgling and swishing. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
A:AnswerDefinitely sounds to me like somethings wrong I would call for service and hope that this is still under the warranty. So it doesn’t cost you anything.
A:AnswerHi - We suggest to check the settings. This model has a Deep Rinse option that when selected, will extend the cycle time. Also, an unbalanced load may cause a longer spin cycle. If an out-of-balance condition is detected by the washer, the Spin light will blink during the remaining portion of the cycle and will stay illuminated for a short time after cycle completion. When this occurs, the washer is taking actions to correct the out-of-balance condition and complete the cycle normally. In some cases, the washer may not be able to balance the load and spin up to full speed. If you notice the load is more wet than normal at the end of the cycle, redistribute the load evenly in the wash
basket and run a Drain & Spin cycle. See page 9 of the Owner's Manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90581-3.pdf - The motor ramps up (speeds up) and coasts (slows) down numerous times during the 1st spin cycle. This routine is normal and allows water and suds to be pumped out to the drain. The motor will ramp up (speed up) through multiple stages as it achieves final spin speed. Smaller loads will reach the final spin speed faster. Larger loads will take longer to reach the final spin speed. When the spin cycle is complete, the basket will coast (slow) down until it stops. A knocking (metallic knock, double knock, or metallic clunk) noise during agitation or spin is a normal sound. This sound occurs when the washer transitions from a stop or paused state to running in spin. It happens several times a cycle after the speed changes or pauses and is caused by two components in the drive system engaging quickly. View the following link (Videos included): https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=36011 - Any other sounds may require a technician for diagnosis. If you need further assistance, we encourage you to contact GE Appliance Service at 1-800-432-2737 or conveniently schedule an appointment online at GEAppliances.com - Keep in touch! - SUE@GEA
A:AnswerMake sure that your hot and cold valves are hooked up correctly and turned to the on position.I just tested mine and switched it from warm to cool while it was filling and it worked fine.
