A:AnswerNo. There has not been a manufacturing-widespread problem. If it IS black mold, please call your local Health Department immediately as it sounds as it is an isolated incident and it is airborne-and can become very dangerous if left unaddressed.
A:AnswerThank you for asking this great question! The exhaust hose needs to be connected to the window when Dry Mode is active. The only mode that doesn’t require the exhaust hose to be connected is the Fan Mode. We hope this helps; kind regards – Matthew@GEA

A:AnswerHi - we're happy to provide more information about the energy costs for this unit! After double checking, this air conditioner was not given an energy guide with operating costs. Because of this, there is no specific way of knowing how much this unit will cost over a month span. There are multiple factors that affect its operation costs, so providing an estimate would not be accurate. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Have a great day. - Pablo@GEA
A:AnswerOnly 1 year. And the only way you get money is if you lay out the money to buy a new one that cost more and then they will send you the value of the original one you bought.
A:AnswerNo, it is 115 volt/60 hz. I cannot see the amperage, but you can plug it into a standard US home outlet. I recommend that you only use that outlet for this unit.
A:AnswerHello,
Thank you so much for this question. The length of the exhaust hose is 5 feet long. If using this unit as an air conditioner, it must be vented to the outside. Failing to do so may cause the unit to overheat and it will not cool properly. The vent can be a dryer vent or similar, as long as the opening has a 5” diameter. We hope this is helpful. Mike@GEA
A:AnswerI used a piece of plastic and some insulation and taped it to the end of the the window portion with some clear insulation tape. Any rigid plastic will do, I used a piece of a lettuce box lid and styrofoam insulation.
A:AnswerThis is exactly how I use the device. It is very easy to remove from the window. The window mount is a slider, so it can fit different size windows, which is what I have from the living room to bedroom. And if you want a more permanent location, it has screw holes to be mounted.
A:AnswerBest bet is to not ask on this forum, but to look at the actual item specifics on BestBuy.com and/or the manufacturer website. (Unless you are my old College Professor trying to show me she was right that I would use these calculations in the real world)
