“How does this heat? Heated Coils with a fan. Tip over shut off? I want to keep in basement to protect pipes in house extension. Would be unattended. Worried about fire hazard. Using a oil heated radiator at the moment. Would like to use a smaller unit”

Thank you for your inquiry. This heater uses a ceramic heating element and does have a tip over switch. However, this unit is made for supplemental heating in a dry, indoor location. This is not made to heat pipes to keep them from freezing.
