QuestionThe VIPER gets really hot when plugged in and the flash drives I've connected to it all get REALLY hot. I worry that somehow it'll melt the flash drives or damage the entry ports. Is this normal? Or is the device I just paid full retail for faulty?

- Answer I have had my flash drive plugged in it for over 2 years and it has never melted anything. Just gets hot, because it's doing a lot! haha.

- Answer This does have an ethernet port. But if you are looking for ethernet without adding other ports, you can get a USB-C to ethernet adapter cheaper.

QuestionHow many usb type A ports does it have? I'm looking to connect a hard drive, card reader, usb keyboard, wireless sound card, another pasport hard drive that my older 7 port hub won't power, and some other things. Also how to charge the MBAir?

QuestionDoes it Consume Power when left connected and the lid is closed? As it is difficult to take it out and put it on, I like to keep it connected all the time. But it looks like it draws a lot of power even though the lid is closed.

- Answer I'm no Pro but I recently purchased this not too long ago and use it quite a lot since I started my own podcast but to be clear, YES it does use up power while connected whether the laptop is open or closed. I always disconnect it when its not being used but I would suggest turning off your device completely when not in use if you truly wish to keep it connected at all times
