A:AnswerI did purchase my machine three weeks ago and no manual came with it. However; it is very easy to operate, as all operating functions are on the single front slide switch which self explains the operating of the Shredder.
A:AnswerWhen this Shredder is used continuously using (5) or more pieces of paper, yes, it does make that sound like a squealing fan best, but its not, its the heat which does built up.
Just let the Shredder cool for a moment and don't over-load it which two many pieces of paper. Like all machines which has moving parts, metal parts do heat up and will expand and make some type of noise, really nothing to worry about, just don't over stress your Shredder putting too many pieces of paper into it at once!
A:AnswerThis happen to me also, what you need to do is put the Shredder outside so it will cool down more quicker then just leaving it in your home. Once the Shredder is all cooled down, it will operate again. You must however, unplug the Shredder, otherwise, it will not cool down.
A:AnswerThe problem with Shredding paper, it all comes in different thickness, so if you grab different pieces of paper to shred, it could possibly be thicker then the recommended amount to shred at one time. Also, plastic will also jam up a shredder with ease. When my Shredder jammed up, I put the Shredder upside down, and pulled as much of those jammed pieces of paper out with Needell-nose-plyers, which usually works. If that doesn't work, then you need to open up the cutting case carefully and see what is jamming it, which I also have done on my other Shredder machine. Plastic is a no, no for these Shredders, as the plastic will jam the Shredder with ease. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerI have run my shredder for about 1 hour straight before it overheats. My cool down time was about 45 minutes to an hour. I usually unplug the shredder during its cool down time. You can reduce your cool down time if you have a small floor fan blowing on the shredder either during shredding or when cooling it down.
A:AnswerCheck to be sure the compartment is pushed all the way in. If you're using a surge protector to plug into sometimes one outlet can go bad. Try switching it to another one.
A:AnswerThe decibel output from this device is acceptable. However, I would not sit too close for prolong periods of time. 5 minute intervals is my suggested max.
A:AnswerI don't have a db meter, so I can't give you a number, but it is average for the shredders I have owned. Not very loud, noisier than a refrigerator, quiter than a vacuum cleaner. Will wake up a baby, if you have one in the house; but if you have a home office not much louder than a printer
