- Answer This charge station/cradle does NOT work with the original 3DS XL because the charging contact points in the rear of the unit are in a different location. Do an internet search for "3ds XL vs New 3ds XL" for a good comparison.

- Answer It will not fit with the clear cover i have on mine if you use the charging station that is included. You can, however, just use the AC adapter which is the same plug as the 3DS XL

- Answer As long as the gold plated pieces on the sides of the port on system are still in tact, it should still charge.
