Q: QuestionI HAVE AND I LOVE MY Portable insignia ice cube maker. However, After making beautiful ice cubes and placing I. The freezer, how al I keep the cubes from sticking together???? And coming out in one big glob of ice. Thank you. Sammie

• A:Answer Since the ice maker doesn't keep the ice frozen once the ice is in the tray, when you transfer the ice to a container in the freezer, you need to move physically move the ice around with your fingers or other utensil. It helps if you dump each batch of ice into the freezer and not let the ice sit in the ice maker tray too long. When I use this technique, I don't experience the "blobbing" of ice. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI want to make sure I understand: after the ice is made, can it stay in the ice machine or do you have to put it in the refrigerator freezer?

• A:Answer After the ice is made it will slowly melt if you don’t remove it and put it in the freezer. If the basket of ice gets full, it won’t be able to make more Ice until there is room. I didn’t time how long the ice cubes stay frozen, but I am pretty sure they had minimal melting after a few hours. I haven’t tried leaving them longer than that.

• A:Answer to clean it drain all the water out and take any ice out of it, get 10 parts warm water and 1 part vinegar run one cycle of that through the machine then another cycle of clean plain water to rinse the machine out

• A:Answer You have to take the ice out and out it in the freezer. It recycles the same water when the ice cubes melt.

• A:Answer there's a marker inside the unit were you put the water level. it makes at least 2 bags of ziplock gallons. but there's no water line. you just keep on adding water.

• A:Answer Yes I had a power outage and mine did the same. You have to hold the on button down until the power light comes on. Also before you turn it on push the cube size selector button or it will switch back and forth between the two sizes and make nothing.

Q: QuestionHaving mold issues with my machine. How do you clean. Looked through YouTube tutorials but can’t find one on this model. Does it come apart to get to the back surfaces? That’s where I am having the issues with mold.

• A:Answer There's some factory in china making these in bulk and "brands" such as insignia are putting their logo in front, and selling it to you. IKICH is another brand with this exact same machine. I've had mine for 2 years without realizing that the back tray that is often hidden from sight had a nice little mold colony growing. (stuff i was drinking). In the end, I took it apart to fix a pump issue and found the colony. This machine isnt designed for long term service. It becomes a throw away item after 3-6 months. Keep an eye on the mold if you insist on continuing to use it, as the mold and mildew build up in the hoses inside of the unit are not visible until you take off the exterior shell. And the metal underneath is serraded and not filed down, so use care. This model is not designed for long term service in mind.

• A:Answer I am really sensitive to the taste and smell of bleach, and noticed the same when I used tap water. We have a water dispenser with purified water and when I use that, the ice comes out fine.
