Chas, The inside shelves are adjustable by roughly an inch... To give you an idea of the shelving size, i have a Denon amplifier and it BARELY fits. The console is not deep whatsoever. Other than that, a dvd player, cable box, anything like that fits just fine. Hope this helps! It's a really nice console and it looks great.

They are adjustable about an inch in each direction. Not sure about being able to put records in there unless you are laying them down. Or if they are the smaller ones.
