- Answer The drivers on the CD and on the Insignia web site are from 2014. No wonder nothing works. Here are the latest drivers for this item. There are two MAC drivers. Choose the one that fits your OS. https://www.asix.com.tw/download.php?sub=driverdetail&PItemID=86

QuestionThe package for this adapter says in multiple locations "10/100/1000", which unless misunderstood means gigabit. However everything I've read online says it is USB 2.0 10/100 only. Which is correct?

- Answer Your IP Address will change with most adapters depending on your network settings. I would not be concerned with this happening.

- Answer Look into your system details under USB. If it’s a Mac click on the Apple at the top/About this Mac/System profiler. Scroll down to USB devices, you will find “Asix Electronics” and the model number. I don’t remember it but it starts with A. Then google “Asix driver [model number]”. You should be able to find it.

- Answer If you have higher than Windows 8 it should work without needing to install any drivers specific to the adapter (ie., it should be plug-and-play).

QuestionI want to know why drivers haven't been made available for download for this for Mac? It is well-known that Macbook air's do NOT have a cd drive, and you make the drivers downloadable for the 3.0 version so why not for the 2.0 version. Why is this so hard

- Answer You can. There are both Windows and Max drivers. The manufacturer is Asix Electronics. First you need to find out what model it is (not the Insignia model). Click on the Apple icon/About this Mac/System Profiler, then scroll down to USB devices (it must be plugged in first). You will find the model number and the manufacturer there. Then go to the Asix Electronics website and find it or google “Asix driver [model number]” or something like that. I don’t remember the model number off the top of my head. This is how I made it work.

- Answer Just plug Ethernet to back of modem then into the combination. One side connects to the Ethernet line the other side is a USB I have Windows 10 also. All it does is go from Ethernet to USB.
