You plug your devices into this switch and then plug this switch into your router to connect the devices to your network and the internet.
A:AnswerYes plug ethernet cord into 1st spot from from internet sourse / then computer / other items in other spots/ works for me/ read the instruction manual if you still have it, not tech savvy here just do it myself kinda person.
A:AnswerThis will not allow you to spread a phone line to several other rooms. Internet only (voice is very different from data).
It doesn't matter which port the internet goes into as long as it comes OUT of a router first (unless you are using multiple IP addresses for various devices.)
