Q: QuestionAfter I set up everything. I found that only 1 port is working. My primary computer connect to the #1 port directly which is no problme, but it shows no valid IP address for the rest of ports.

• A:Answer This is not a switch it is a cable modem. Only 1 port is active the others are for additional public addresses and you need a business account to get that.

• A:Answer Hello sir I use Comcast internet provider. and I called them and asked them for the guidlines for which modem I should buy. They said, i need to buy DOSCIS 3.1, AND 1GB SPEED modem. and gave me 3 names. Netgear was one of them. so I bought this one and works fine so far. You need to call your provider and ask them which one you need to buy, DOSCIS 3.0 OR 3.1. DOSCIS 3.0 IS OLD NOW AND newer one is DOSCIS 3.1

Q: QuestionIf I replace the Xfinity rental modem with this Netgear one, can I still use the Xfinity router that is supplied by them? or do I need to replace the router as well?

• A:Answer You will either need their router or supply your own. Theirs is a modem/router combo, so more than likely if you use theirs and have a your own modem, you will still be renting their modem after having paid for the Netgear. You would need your own router with wi-fi if you choose this product. I chose Google Nest, but there are several other great choices out their.

• A:Answer Using it with Xfinity (Comcast). I’ve had no issues. I am currently getting around 300-350 mbps down, if I paid for better download rates, it would easily handle 400 mbps. So far love the product.

• A:Answer No, bc it doesn’t have the ability to connect phone. However, Netgear does offer a different modem that has the same capabilities as this modem, PLUS internet phone/voice capabilities. It is model CM1150V-100NAS and is also sold at Best Buy. This would be the modem you would want to get. Hope this helps.
