“I have an Apple 1TB Time Capsule (and router). I'd like to continue to use the storage feature. Would I need to create two networks or would these devices play nicely together?”

You can use the Orbi as an Access Point by plugging the Orbi Router into your existing router, set to AP during setup, and it will have a separate SSID and password with the same network as your first router and the satellite will just extend the Orbi router. Doing it this way will allow your devices to, "play nicely together".
