QuestionLive on a farm with limited internet 1.5speed is the max my house 3200 on each floor router in basement cant be moved. streaming always buffering will this help? need wifi on main floor. is this better than Linsky Velop, will either help

QuestionI currently have a Spectrum modem with a Linksys mesh system (3 nodes). My mesh system keeps disconnecting from the internet. it has happened 3 times while I am out of town and I can't connect to my smart home. Will Orbi be better?

QuestionIs the Orbi compatible with gigabit service from internet provider? We have 1000 Mbps download and 500 Mbps upload, and have had issues with Wifi working correctly throughout the house. Currently using Netgear Nighthawk X4S, but speeds suffer.

QuestionWe have Xfinity for internet. We use it to stream live news and other TV programs, use desk top, iPad, iPad-mini for games, have 6 TVs. However, will have cable TV services for 4 TVs. How would this work? Need higher speed, to cover 4000sqf.

- Answer This would have nothing to do with cable TV as it is just internet only and covers 5000 square feet and if you add a 2nd satellite it will cover 7500 square feet.

QuestionHow easy is it to set up. I got a extender for my router and can't connect it to my(Linksys). I heard orbit is great. So how easy is it to get it working besides connecting to my modem what else do I need to do. I just hoping it's as easy 1 2 3

- Answer The orbi is very easy to set up using either the direct Ethernet connection or a mobile app available on iOS and google play store. The initial connection time is longer than my Apple AirPort Extreme and requires a little patience. Just follow the instructions on the mobile app or web page (Ethernet connection). The satellite connection is similarly slow and may require a couple of toggles of the synchronization switch before it syncs. I use the satellite as both an extender and as a printer server for my Usb printers.

- Answer No. You will need the modem from someone, either Verizon or buy a new one (I suggest buying your own to get any decent speeds). This is a WiFi router only. You have to plug this into a modem to get internet.

QuestionI just purchased the Orbi. Question--My modem is from TWC and is a combination modem/router. I also have Time Capsule (Apple) which also acts as a router. I currently have 4 networks--Does this dilute my speed?

- Answer While it might not cause a noticable speed slow down it does cause interference to have 4 or more SSID's being broadcast in your home. Your quality of signal could be affected as they all are competing for airtime in their respective bandwidths i.e. 2.4 and 5.0 GHZ. My suggestion would be to at least get TWC to shut down the router functions of your cable modem and put it in bridge mode.

- Answer It definitely does. I use Spectrum internet at 100 Mbps. ORBI consistently gives more than that and you can easily monitor with the ORBI app which guides you through installation and control of the unit.

- Answer Not sure I fully understand the question, but once these are plugged in and connected to the modem, it takes minutes to set up the wifi name and password from the app. From there, it's just a matter of connecting your devices wirelessly.

QuestionI am presently running an Arris cable modem & NetGear AC1900 DST router. I upgraded the ISP & Arris modem to 100+ Mbps down. My Speed Test is still 60+ down & 4 up w/AC1900(Ethernet). When I run modem to computer (Ethernet) I get 115 test. Will Orbi fix

- Answer Yes but dhcp will be delivered by the Orbi unit so anything on the switch before the Orbi will be on a different configuration.

QuestionI have a Comcast router with phone service. However in the settings on the Comcast modem I use Mac address filtering. How will this work or not work with the Orbi? I would like to continue using Mac filtering. Will the Orbi allow me to do Mac filtering?

- Answer Unable to answer as the Orbi router I had did not mesh with my Spectrum router. Once I had everything hooked and connected, I found that my phone system failed to function. Disconnecting the system was necessary to retain my phone service.

QuestionWe have netflix for 2 devices, however it is rare that we can watch on 2 devices within our home. We get a lot of buffering and sometimes we get the buffering if there is only 1 person online. Would this device help us to watch without the buffering?

- Answer Orbi is very fast WiFi. If your buffering is caused by slow Internet at your location, then Orbi won't help. But if your buffering is caused by a slow WiFi access point, then yes, Orbi will definitely reduce (likely eliminate) your buffering. You might try using something like the Speedtest app on your computer and/or phone to test the internet and WiFi speeds at your location to get a better idea of your particular issue. I'm new to Orbi, but I've figured out already that it can solve just about any WiFi speed problems.

QuestionI am discontinuing abb internet service due to unreliable internet service. I plan on using Verizon home wireless (not fiios as not available) can I connect my orbi router to this service? Verizon says I need jet packs on my other devices?. Thanks

- Answer I have Verizon and they are dead wrong. You can ask them how to disable to wifi part of your modem and connect the orbi directly to your modem with the cable that's included with the orbi. Set up you orbi by following the simple directions and connect your device to the orbi. If you want to have 2 wifi systems running and risk the collision of the two networks you can just simply install your orbi to your modem and follow the instructions for set up. I did this and it works better than anything I have had from Verizon.

- Answer NO!. This is just a wifi unit - you still need to have a router or antenna (and some kind of account) to get to the internet.
