QuestionThis router has quit on me...Have there been any reliability issues with this router? I purchased October 2014 and now this router doesn't perform. I continually have to power off and then power on router to get it to send wireless signal to my devices. Usually works for a while then I will have to do the same thing in an hour. Now, it doesn't do anything no matter if I power it off and then back on. It is attached to a modem. No problems with modem, as I am typing this while hard wired from the modem. Would netgear offer an equivalent replacement? This is an $80 router that hasn't lived up to expectations. Thanks, Jeffrey Young

- Answer That's a sure sign that your router is toast. The reliability on these guys is pretty good. NETGEAR would know if NETGEAR will offer up a replacement. NETGEAR routers are backed by a NETGEAR limited 1-year Hardware Warranty. If it's bad, they should replace it.

- Answer The two channels available are 2.4 ghz and 5ghz. Some older equipment will not recognize the 5ghz channel, however, I use it with my ROKU for streaming tv and it works great. I also live in a large house and have found signal strength in our basement and upstairs to be more than adequate.

- Answer I connected this to my high end modem to allocate usage for devices on the shared wifi. It did help significantly to speed up access in my scenario. If you do not have a 5ghz modem for the incoming cable service, that would be the first investment, IMO. Stay well.

- Answer The router will provide wifi in that you will see a wireless network you can connect to. But without an internet provider, there will be no data for your router to send. So, if you want to access the internet, stream movies, etc., you must have an internet provider.

- Answer Yes it does! And it works very well. You will need to purchase modem also, if you don't already have one. I purchased the Motorola 8x4 DOCSIS 30 and the combo works well together.

- Answer More than enough. Even though it has 5G, the 2.4G band will do the job. If you decide to run 5g, keep the router close as distances are limited and your devices need to support 5g as well!

- Answer Yes it will work. I have Service Electric in NJ and it works fine but most routers would. Very easy set up. Just plue the enternet (yellow) into the Service elect modem and then into the router and you are ready to go.

- Answer I just bought a new router for the very same reason because my existing router was a plain base model only able to send up to 54mbps out but I was only getting around 15. With this new Netgear router I'm getting over 100gbps!!! No issues anymore with my firestick. Just make sure your modem and router can handle at least 100mbps and make sure your internet plan is supplying you with at least 75mbps.

- Answer Yea you can through the app but there is no need to unless you have children like I do so you need to make a night hawk account then you can control your Router there set times, turn off internet to just the device and so much more even hen you are not there

QuestionI purchased a Netgear N600 Wireless Dual band router, model WNDR3400v2 years ago. I just upgraded my Spectrum internet speed to 60 mbps and the speedtest is only showing 35 mbps. Is this because the router isn't strong/fast enough? Should I call?

- Answer well i have this router and i get 95 MB download upload speedsm im on spectrum as well with 60 MB MPBS plan, maybe you need to configure some channels or just chat with support and request an autosetting they would be able to configure the router and maybe it would solve the problem
