A:AnswerIt depends on the rest of your PC. If you have the latest processors and maxed out RAM, you might be able to run Paint if you switch the UI in Windows to basic, and close any open applications. If you really want to run Paint, opt for 2x 3090's, those can run in SLI. Good luck.
A:AnswerBest Buy needs to start taking pre-orders so atleast we know we're going to get one at some point and that would also eliminate scalpers. You don't have to be rocket scientist to figure this out Best Buy.
A:AnswerThey *will* come back out, but expect no forewarning announcement whatsoever. There is no definitive answer from BestBuy on this, and their reason is understandable, but frustrating. Restocks are the best-kept secret of this card. Giving no lead warning is policy for BestBuy, as a mechanism for detecting and subsequently at-least-trying-before-failing to eliminate bots. If the scalpers running bot armies know no more than you do, they are forced to perpetually hammer the site to detect stock change 24/7, and in so doing become more "visible" for BestBuys anti-botting detection and supposed blacklisting. Honestly, however, it doesn't do much good at all. This site, and specifically this page, are assaulted non-stop by bots disguising and/or masquerading IP info, etc. When they do come back in stock the bots cart them all within seconds, even with BestBuys "Second phase" authentication.
That said, for what it is worth, I've watched in earnest since launch, and have worn out the label of my F5 key. BestBuy *appears* to restock every 1.5 to 2.5 weeks. The latest restock came in 1-week + 5-days after the prior. There is no specific day (Friday seems to be the most common, but I've seen Wednesday twice, and even a Monday), nor specific time (I've seen 6:00AM PST, 8:00AM PST, and 2:00PM PST). At the time of this answer being authored the last restock was 2020-12-02, a Wednesday, at 8:00am PST, and they were literally gone in seconds (less than ten). I managed to get to "second phase" authentication before the page hung indefinitely and eventually timed out, several times. It took another 25 minutes before the site finally hung out the DND sign, and proceeded to flip back and forth between "Coming Soon" and "Sold Out" a half dozen times during the subsequent two hours before finally settling on what you see now (Sold Out). The prior restock happened on 2020-11-20, a Friday, at 6:00am PST, and was also wiped out in seconds, with a similar experience on my part.
There is no notify system; there is no wait-list. If you want it you have to be on the site, and have loaded the page to see the restock within seconds of it going live, or you're going to miss it (and, as I described earlier, even then, you'll likely still miss it). It is battle-royale, every man/woman/child/bot for themselves (one of those clearly having a distinct advantage).
A:AnswerBro, Best But doesn't care about you or me, They just want $$$$$, and if they wanted CUSTOMER SATISFACTION they would implement waitlists or special check out or pre-orders, but no, none of that is implemented. Meaning that as long as they can sell 3080 in 0,4 seconds to whoever (most likely bots) buys them, everything is OK.
A:AnswerGood luck there. You may be able to play Pac-Man on medium with animations disabled at best. Some reports have shown significant frame drops when picking up a power pellet. You might be better off waiting for the 3090. Hope this helps.
A:AnswerYou'll have to bust out a tape measure, the RTX 3080 measure in at 11.2"(L) x 4.4" (W), which is much larger length wise than the 1060 which is only 6.8" (L). Side note, the RTX 3080 is a 350 watt card, the 1060 is only 230 watts, you'll also need to confirm your power supply can handle that. 700 watt or more is recommended and it needs 2x 8 pin pci-e plugs (with included adapter) or a new power supply with the very recently adopted 12 pin pci-e plug
A:AnswerThere was an online restock just yesterday, Tuesday, January 5 between 10-12 Eastern standard time. My husband has been trying to get this card for a while and couldn’t find it at MSRP. I downloaded the app HotStock which gives you an alert when the item is in stock. Also, comments from other users stated Best Buy usually restocks on Tuesday mornings. So I sat with my laptop and refreshed Best Buy’s page for what seemed like a million times and got lucky- eventually the gray “sold out” button turned into a blue “see details” button. You click it & have to wait for a couple of minutes for them to make sure you’re not a bot. Then it will let you click “add to cart” if it’s still in stock. I suggest doing it directly from the website, not the Best Buy app. I did this process at the same time from my laptop and my phone, in case I didn’t get the option to add to cart in one of them. They are releasing the cards every few minutes, so keep refreshing the page if you get a “sold out” or “unavailable” button. Make sure you are already logged in to your Best Buy account, have your credit card already on file and have your phone next to you as they will send you a verification code. Only option for me was to pick up in store, no shipping. Good luck & hope you can get a card in the next restock!
A:AnswerLater than you would like. Because BestBuy (and pretty much all other companies) don't care who buys their product as long as they sell it to someone, including scalpers. If they actually wanted to sell to their customers, there would have been a simple captach test at checkout. Done. No more scalpers. But no, what we have is pure greed selling out to pure scum.
A:AnswerThis is the imaginary edition release. They are getting ready to drop imaginary 2 edition of the higher GB variants later in December. 100% certain there will be no issues with that release as well.
A:AnswerNo need for PCIe4, PCIe3 will be fine. At the extreme end of overclocking at 8k there might be negligible difference of maybe 2% but at 4k we think now there won't be a difference.
A:AnswerThey restock every 1-2 weeks, unannounced, with no waiting lists or queues. Fair warning: this site, and specifically this page, are ferociously botted by scalpers, and they're usually in carts and gone within 10-20seconds of becoming available. As of today (2020-12-14) the last batch release was 2020-12-08 7:55am, and was completely gone in less than 15 seconds. Don't expect that to change until sometime in at least Q2 2021.
A:AnswerFrom any number of scalpers on eBay for 2-3x the retail price. But if you're asking about a genuine retail purchase, the answer is *nowhere*. BestBot is the exclusive retailer of this hardware, and they cater exclusively to scalpers wielding bot-armies 24/7.
