• It is fully functional on it’s own. I’ve never used the app, therefore using with a phone app is optional.

• You do not need to use the OMRON Connect APP to use this device.

• It try's to get you to but I just set it up manually then it works without app. it stores last 10 or more readings so you can look up if you forget last time you used it. its kind of like setting up digital clock set time date .
