QuestionCan I use Bluetooth speakers for the rears in addition to hardwired front speakers?

- Answer From what I understand, no, you cannot use bluetooth speakers wirelessly. The receiver is a receiver, and not a transmitter. Only a transmitter such as a phone can cast bluetooth signals.

QuestionWill this unit allow for watching TV while listening to the Radio??? If so, what is the method to do so? Thank you.

- Answer Yes! Just select another input such as tuner or CD, and the receiver will play that input. But, you can't listen to the tv by turning up the tv remote, if it's hooked up through the ARC HDMI. Or at least, that's what I've come to. The ARC allows you to use the tv remote to control the Pioneer volume (very cool!), but if the receiver is turned on, you'll only be able to hear the tv when the receiver is selected to TV.

QuestionI was wondering if this av receiver would be able to handle the bowers and wilkins 685 s2 bookshelf speakers, or would I have to purchase the 302 instead? I currently own the 102 but am looking at getting those bookshelves. Using it for movies and gaming.

- Answer Yes, you can connect just about any speaker on this earth to any receiver on this earth. A friend of mine connected a pair of GIANT stage speakers to his older Kenwood receiver; he just had to add phono plugs to the ends of the speaker wires that connect to the speakers!

QuestionAny issue with stopping audio at the HDMI so it does't pass through to a projector? I would like this setup: ROKU to HDMI IN - Video only pass through to HDMI out and audio plays on receiver. Please see the illustration Can I remove audio return?

- Answer Yes, this is the entire purpose of having a receiver, to intercept the audio in a source and play it via the surround sound speakers connected to it. And yes, you can turn off ARC, either in the TV, or the receiver.

- Answer The calibration sets up a generic "ideal" volume level for each channel to the mic location. While it's best to leave the levels of the speakers to what the auto setup tells you because it compensates for speaker distances, there's no reason you can't crank up the bass to your preference after calibration, since bass is non-directional. I recommend setting the sub to half volume, doing a calibration, and then turning it up from the sub's controls to your preference - it's usually easier to fiddle with one or two dials on the sub than to mess around in the menus on the receiver.

QuestionWhat will happen if I use 3 ohm speakers with this receiver? I already tried connecting them and so far they sound good. Except the un-powered subwoofer which had no sound. I made sure to set the receiver's internal impedance to 4 ohms.

- Answer Just make sure there is no extra heat coming from the receiver. If there is, bite the big one and get new speakers. And yes, the sub must have it's own amp and electric power.

- Answer No, it does 7.2 in Dolby TrueHD / DTS: MA mode, or 5.2.2 in Dolby Atmos / DTS: X mode. In other words, it supports 7 speakers and 2 subwoofers.

- Answer I just bought the vsx lx102 and assumed the Icontrolav5 would work with this unit, but it does not. I checked the Pioneer website and it is not on the list of compatible models. I hope since it is such a new avr that Pioneer will make it available in a firmware update.

- Answer I am not 100% sure but is a 4k upconvert system so something running 4k already to the receiver to a 4k TV should produce your hd 4k clarity. Just running a plain old DVD seems to upconvert to almost Blu-ray quality. Could be just ne that thinks that but the clarity on the movie was definitely clearer in my opinion. Hope this helps.
