A:Answer JohnC, this adapter cannot convert a DVD player’s component output into HDMI. It only works HDMI → component, not the reverse. To connect an older DVD player with component output to an HDMI-only TV, you would indeed need a component-to-HDMI converter, which actively converts and scales the signal.
