Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello, Neighbor. Thank you for reaching out! To answer your question, the Ring Alarm system is not wireless. However, Ring Alarm gives you the option to enable 24/7 Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring and is equipped with battery backup and LTE cellular backup to ensure the system is always up and running, even if your power goes out or broadband is unavailable (with a Ring Protect plan). Ring Alarm is simple, affordable security without long-term contracts or the need for professional installation. I have attached e help article below that will provide more information about the system: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005025306-Ring-Alarm-System-Basic-Information. Q: QuestionIs the siren built into the base or sold separately?
Asked by TwoPats.
- A:Answer Hello Mrone87, Great question! The Ring Alarm (2nd Generation) Base Station does feature a 104-decibel siren. The Ring Dome Siren (sold separately) would be an additional siren accessory that could be placed in another location within your home, if needed. Q: QuestionCan you set a delay on the door alarm so it only sounds when left open more than, say, 1 minute?
Asked by Andyok.
- A:Answer Hello Andyok, Yes, if your Contact Sensor Placement is set to Main Door, you can customize your entry and exit delays to have enough time to leave after arming, or enter and disarm. The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor is designed to monitor your doors and windows. The Contact Sensor is made up of two parts: the sensor and the magnet. When installed on your door or window, it can tell if the door or window is open or closed. By default, your Ring Alarm Contact Sensors are armed when using both Away and Home Mode. Q: QuestionDoes the Ring system have battery backup? if internet goes out or power.
Asked by Terryall35.
- A:Answer I believe it does. I don’t think linked cameras will work, though, because they require power and an internet connection. The following is from the ring web support site: How does battery backup work? When your Ring Alarm loses power, the internal rechargeable battery will keep your Ring Alarm Base Station online for up to 24 hours. You may have some limited functionality while on battery backup, but you can still arm and disarm your Ring Alarm using the Keypad, and if there is a break-in, your siren will still sound. (Ring app access is only available with a Ring Protect subscription.) How does Alarm Cellular Backup work? A Ring Protect subscription with professional monitoring is required to have cellular backup. When your internet goes down, your Ring Alarm will automatically switch over to cellular backup. You may have limited app functionality while your Base Station is on cellular backup, but you can still arm and disarm your Ring Alarm. If you have professional monitoring, cellular backup will ensure the signal get out.
