- Answer We did, but you don't have to have it if you carry your phone with you. I don't carry my phone around the house with me, so the chime is important to me.

- Answer On the ring app settings it will let you know the percentage left before it needs charge again.all depends on how many daily motion detection your getting & live views option. Motion sensor can be adjusted through ring app for longer battery life.

QuestionHow long between battery charges?

- Answer This can vary heavily based on temperature and the alert settings you use. Her it had been cold hovering around freezing and we have the standard alerts and motion settings on with the person verification setting on. Thad a battery saving setting, which delays the alert until the ring calculates if it thinks it’s a person vs an animal or object that set off the motion alert and we are getting around 1.5 months between battery changes

- Answer Run time on the battery depends on several factors, only some of which you can control. My guess is that normal charge will last for two months. Ring battery runs about $35.

QuestionI have an older home with a wired Nutone LA26 chime. I searched the list to try to determine if this unit could be operated with my existing doorbell chime, but the model wasn't listed on either the compatible or incompatible list. Will it work? Thanks

- Answer I am told it will work but I havent hooked mine up. That being said, the system appears to not support different tones for front and rear door unless the existing chime system is already set up for that feature.

- Answer I installed mine 27 days ago and my battery is currently at 60%. There are a lot of factors affecting battery life such as motion zones, sensitivity, and alerts, event length, how often you use live view and how often your doorbell is pressed.

- Answer Battery is definitely an option. Usage depends on what features you use and how frequently they are used. Could last two weeks or so. Always have a spare battery available and charged to swap out when needed.

- Answer No, the Battery Doorbell Plus can't be mounted on the bracket for the Video Doorbell 2nd Gen. They are the same size, but the back of the units are different. The Video Doorbell 2nd Gen has a lip on top that the doorbell rests on and two screws on the bottom. The Battery Doorbell Plus has four screws, two at the bottom and two in the middle.
