  • QuestionI bought 10 spotlights 10 extra batteries and 10 solar panels. I installed 5 but only 1 is say that the solar panel is connected but other 4 ate not connected. What could be the problem?

    Asked by Ray.

    • Answer Hi Ray. Thanks for reaching out. In order to extend the lifetime of the lithium-ion battery, your Ring Solar Panel will not begin charging your battery until its percentage drops below 90%. You may see the solar device’s status as “Not Connected” in the Ring app when your battery is over a 90% charge, and this is normal. Visit our support center for more information. • QuestionHow will this hold up in a MN winter? Looking to add to our ring doorbell system, worried the battery will drain or it won’t work well with temps below freezing, as is typical for most of winter in MN.

    Asked by ColdInMn.

    • Answer Only one rechargeable battery is used by the apparatus at a time. The system alerts you when the power is low and the second battery kicks in. When our battery is low the video and wifi don’t seem to work. I live further south than MN but the batteries do not last long when it is cold out. Maybe the two batteries last a week and we haven’t hit freezing yet here.
