    • Answer Yes, If you have the GEEK Squad support for $199.00 per year, I believe the cost is $50.00. If you don’t have the annual Support I believe it’s $100.00. Getting an appointment where I am is about two weeks out. Installing it is not Rocket Science, so if you have any friends with a little electronic knowledge they should be able to read the instructions and install it.

  • Questioncan the ring pro2 doorbell be mounted horizontally? my old doorbell is mounted horizontally on vinyl siding so i wondered if the ring can be installed that way so it will mount flush without gaps behind it as it would here on the vinyl slats.

    • Answer You could mount horizontal but your video display will be rotated 90 degress. I didnit find a setting in the app to rotate it back. Try putting a black plastic wedge from Home Depot used to wedge construction work.

    • Answer Hello Penny, Ring Doorbell Pro 2 will only use data when it’s activated by an event or when you access Live View via the Ring app. If Ring camera doesn’t detect motion or isn’t activated with the app, it won’t use your mobile devices' data.     • Answer Yes it can. it will be attached to the same wires from your door bell and original door chime. No need to buy a separate door chime if your previous door chime works. Ex: someone rings your ring door bell ,sound goes on ring doorbell device, then your phone notifies you that someone rung your bell and then your chime inside your house rings in that order. You can control all notification settings from the ring app in case you want to silence some. Overall very pleased with product and service.

  • QuestionWHAT WIDTH OR ANGLE DOES THE CAMERA CAPTURE

    • Answer I’ve looked at the box and instructions manual, and I cannot seem to find exact numbers that give me a measure of degrees in the area amount the view covers. However, I will say that if there is someone at your door, the distance required for that person to physically stretch out his/her arms and ring the bell, your footage will show you a complete image of that person that will entail everything just below his feet on the ground, stretched out to a few feet above their head in respects to the height. As for width, you will be able to see multiple people at your door at once, to include the Avenue of approach they took to reach the point in which they’re standing in front of your door. The doorbell automatically starts pre-recording prior to the button being pressed at the first sign of motion. It anticipates the possibility of each detected motion becoming a significant occurrence, so it’s prepared to show you a complete scenario of events should you decide to need it and request it. There’s also a birds eye view which I’ve indicated in one of the 3 photos I’ve attached. When you setup the doorbell and go thru your initial programming procedures, you can sync it up with gps and calibrate it’s position relative to your door on a map. With the pre-recording that I indicated earlier, it gives you an aerial view from a topographic map highlighting the exact route and direction of travel taken by the “person of interest” in the captured motion footage. So you will always know where they came from, and where they went after leaving your door. I’ve attached 3 photographs so you could have an idea of the landscape view, portrait view, and the view that has the added birds eye view attached. Hopefully this helps in highlighting the angles you are able to get with the video feed.

    • Answer Hi. Thank you for your question today! Usually, devices falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. To determine whether the problem is caused by poor upload speed, run a speed test to determine if your network can support Ring devices. In addition to ensuring that you have sufficient wifi speeds, you will also want to check the signal strength of your device. Ring devices that show higher resolution video need faster internet. Your Ring device will adjust video quality based on your internet speed, but needs at least 1 Mbps to work and 2 Mbps is recommended for optimal performance. A poor wifi signal can cause connectivity with your Ring device to be unreliable. Check the Device Health section of your Ring application to ensure the device’s RSSI is within an acceptable range.
