QuestionFold-up shelf by ice maker will not fold up.Unable to use the fold-up shelf on the refrigerator (left top by the ice maker). It appears to have a screw holding it to a piece of white plastic attached to the adjacent shelf. Is there a secret release? This is not addressed in the owner's manual, which does refer to the fold-up shelf.

- Answer I had a little problem getting this as well. that screw is in a plastic piece that is just connected to the other part of the shelf so if you just hit with the heal of the hand in an upward motion right by that screw it should pop right up

Questionis your refrigerator noisy?we just got our new refrigerator delivered (20 minutes ago!) and we are noticing that it's kind of noisy.. almost like a buzzing sound. i've never had a brand new refrigerator like this before, so i'm just wondering if it's normal. i know refrigerators make noise, but it's a pretty loud humming/buzzing noise. is it going to settle in and die down? thanks!

QuestionWater dispenser tubeDoes the water dispenser tube shoot water straight down or on an angle towards the back? We just had this delivered and when dispensing water, it shoots on an angle towards the back. Is this normal? My old fridge would dispense the water in a stream straight down.

- Answer Mine shoots water at a back angle, too. My previous dispenser shot it straight down. Needless to say, there have been several messes with this one.

- Answer Thanks for your interest. Samsung recommends leaving at least 3/8" clearance on the top and each side of the RF28HFEDBSR, and 1" behind it for air circulation. If either side is opening into a wall, additional space is needed to allow the handle to clear (approximately 3-3/4" for the door to open 90 degrees). This would make the minimum size of the enclosure 36-1/2" wide by 71" high by 30" deep if you want the refrigerator to be recessed into the cutout as far as the front edge of the case. The 71" height is based on providing space above the 70" door hinges to allow for leveling, but may not be necessary depending on your flooring. If the cabinets above the fridge are 24" deep or less, then the minimum height would be 69-1/4". - Ms. Samsung

QuestionI just got delivery of model# RF28HFEDBSR yesterday. One problem is the display panel changes the ice setting from "cubed" to "crushed" on its own, like every 15-30 mins. It is random, but it beeps and seems like a ghost is touching it. Please advise.

Questionwe just purchased new refrigerator. the ice is very cloudy and the crushed ice seems to be big chunks instead of smaller crushed ice. Do you have anyWe just purchased a new refrigerator it has an ice maker. Mod# f28hmedbsr-aa samsung. The ice is very cloudy do you have any solutions for cloudy ice. Also when in crushed ice mode it looks like the ice is not getting crushed enough.

- Answer I agree with you on this issue, I found that the crushed ice is barely crushed as well. The LG I used to own did a better job, but all of the refrigerators seem to have been redesigned and who knows how they crush ice now. As much as these refrigerators cost there should be an additional setting for it to make snow cones.

- Answer No they are not magnetic, we have a couple important memos on magnets on the side of fridge, but the front doors are not magnetic.

Questiondepth for deliveryThere are several different references to depth, like with/out handles and doors. What is the depth for delivery. I have average doors and don't know if the 36" depth would come through our 36" door. I assume it gets delivered to houses with standard door openings?

- Answer The 28.1 has two. Small on top - fits waffle boxes and small items. One on the bottom separated by a divider.

QuestionAre the crispers and cool select pantry supposed to have an opening when closed, or are they made to be closed tightly?We recently purchased this fridge and had it installed. Upon inspection, I noticed the spaces (about 1/4 in. above the crispers and 1/8 in. above the pantry). In other words, there's enough space so that air can flow into the crispers as well as the pantry. Is this normal or is it a manufacturer's defect?

- Answer It is designed that way for normal air flow. You wouldn't want them to be sealed tight. The air needs to flow freely to keep your food fresh.

- Answer There are a number of products available that are specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but can help prevent fingerprints from recurring. Thanks for your question! Ms. Samsung

- Answer Detailed instructions for connecting your new RF28HFEDBSR French Door Refrigerator to your home's water supply can be found in the User Manual that comes with the refrigerator, or it can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website. Samsung recommends using a new water line installation kit that contains copper tubing and a ¼” compression nut, though plastic tubing is also acceptable. I've attached an illustration from page 16 of the User Manual showing the basic parts that are needed. It's also recommended to have the line installed by a qualified technician to ensure it is installed securely and will function properly. Thank you for choosing Samsung! Ms. Samsung

QuestionWe purchased a RF28JBEDBSG/AA refrigerator in February 2019. The installer suggested we use the maker everyday or every other day. When we select CUBE we only get crushed ice. We have done all of the troubleshooting in the manual to no avail.

- Answer My suggestion would be to return the refrigerator ASAP... you are just beginning to have troubles that Samsung can’t fully fix. When the warranty expires you’re on you own for hundreds of dollars for repairs. My ice maker has been “repaired “ with their latest fix every 4 - 5 months for 5 years..... all covered by the wonderful Geek Squad extended warranty that will soon expire. Don’t wait, get rid of the Samsung refrigerator!!!

- Answer I told had the ice build up problem. In my case iits little ice build up on the door. Seems like faulty installation. Called for geek squad support and they fixed it by replacing the the filler ( rubber like filler that hangs on to the door)
