- Answer No you will need to order that cable if you plan on cloning an existing drive. In the box you only get the drive, no mounting hardware is included either.

- Answer The best way is know for certain is to go to Dell's website and verify that your xps supports a 2.5 inch drive. Not sure from the model number if this is desktop or laptop. If its a desktop you may need to order a 2.5 inch adaptor to fit a standard desktop drive bay. If its a laptop as long as it supports a 2.5 in drive this one will fit just fine.

- Answer With it being a SATA connection, the size looks correct. I have cloned/replaced dozens of laptops with the 860. Make sure, if you are cloning, that the size of the 860 is the same size or greater and there are no hard drive errors (with the old hard drive)

- Answer aslong as you can remove the original hard drive from the laptop this hard drive will work inside of that laptop. if copying the original hard drive Consider purchasing the Insignia 2bay HDD docking station as this will allow you to copy the original hard drive onto the SSD before installing If not just install a brand new version of windows 10, this can easily be loaded onto a USB stick by doing a quick google search

- Answer This SSD has a SATA interface, an msata is short for mini-sata. the SATA interface has been the standard for many years and just about all HDD (spinning) drives will have a SATA interface. If you have an msata interface on your laptop, Samsung does sell SSDs in that interface.

- Answer As a matter of fact I did just that. Download the free version of Macrium Cloning software and if will be easy. This software very easily allows you to adjust the size of the partitions. Hope this helps.
