QuestionI purchased this microwave but noticed that plates 3 grooves don't sit in the carousal plastic slots. Is this defective?

- Answer Just had the same experience. This appears to be one of the few models where the outer roller ring is actually part of the hub (only ring with spokes). All other microwaves have separate removeable ring. As poor of a design as it is, apparently its intentional that this plate doesn't drop into center grooves. This plate is relying totally on those spinning wheels to support/spin the plate.

QuestionHi, Can the kitchen timer be going while also using the microwave to heat? My current one (had abt 18 yrs) allows this. I can set the kitchen timer for something on the stove/oven, and actually use the mirco at the same time. Then shows timer again.

QuestionDoes this microwave have a trim kit? I"m replacing R-426HS that has a trim kit, do you think this will fit in that trim kit?

The suggested replacement is SMC1842CS, the dimensions are 23.2" W x 13.3" H x 18.9"D, the capacity is 1.8 and the wattage is 1100. - Answer Not sure if it is ceramic, but it is gray and looks painted. Either way it is not white like normal and after 2 years it still looks good. To be fair most of what I cook is covered is some way, sometimes I get splashes but not often. So far they have all cleaned off okay.

QuestionIs it normal for the magnetron to shut off before the end of a long cycle? For example the timer is set for 5min, 30sec. It runs as expected for 5min 15sec. With about 15 seconds left, the magnetron shuts off but the turntable and light continue.
