      Answer

The online manual for the KENWOOD DNX7100 appears to be "Sat Radio Ready" meaning it's not compatible with the SiriusXM - Connect Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner. It will have to say "SiriusXM Ready". Please visit your local Best Buy for further details and options.

  • Question
Do I need the tuner if my current stereo already is sirius enabled?   (2 Answers)

My current stock car stereo is already Sirius xm enabled with an active subscription. I plan on buying a newer touch screen stereo that is Sirius compatible. Will I need to add the tuner to make sure the new radio will work or will my vehicle be automatically ready to work since it currently is able to find xm radio? I have a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer.

      Answer

If you are buying a new tuner to replace your factory stereo, you will need a new tuner to enable to new deck. Please look for a head unit that is "SiriusXM Ready" as only head units with that capability will take the Connect Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner. Please visit your local Best Buy for more details and installation options.

The SXV300V1 does not fit in my Nissan Murano as the Bose radio takes a male, 1 prong connector. Is there an adapter to take me from multi prong to single?   (1 Answer)

      Answer

If it is a factory radio, you will need to go to the dealer for the one that is made for your vehicle. Otherwise, you will need to put a different radio in it. Depending on the quality of the factory stereo, you might want to bite the bullet and put the factory one in. Good luck.

  • Question
Do I have to mount the antenna from this to use with the Pioneer SiriusXM radio that I've purchased? Or can I use the factory satellite antenna that is already on my car? I only wanted to replace the head unit for the stereo not the antenna. Thank you.   (1 Answer)

        Answer

If your Honda already has SiriusXM compatibility (SAT button on the receiver), you most likely just need to purchase a subscription from SiriusXM. If you have an aftermarket stereo, then if it is "SAT Ready" you just need to purchase the equipment and set up an install date.

I had the geek squad installed a Kenwood Model: DPX501BT- Sterio that is Satellite Radio-Ready - Do I need this for the Sirius XM-Ready Receivers to work? If I do, I wish I was told this when I bought the radio and other parts for the installation.
