A:AnswerSonos needs internet connection to work. One day my ISP internet went down and even though I was using my cell phone internet to play Spotify it wasnt pushing any sound to the sonos devices. In my router logs it seems it needs to make constant connection to their SONOS servers to allow the music to play.
A:AnswerIt is okay to connect more or all of the Sonos components via wired ethernet. Keep in mind that your WiFi has to be on the same VLAN for your wireless phones or tablets to control your Sonos. Your Sonos will probably benefit from being "wired" to your network.
A:AnswerYes, I had same issue with my seven sonos where they started at different times and if I skipped a track the same thing would happen which was annoying. When you get your Sonos Boost make sure you set it to channel 1 and your wireless to channel 11 so their is no interference but I think you should be ok to install right out the box without making any changes.
A:AnswerThat's odd. Your router should work. Does your router support 2.4 ghz? You might check to see if this is turned on (it should be). Your Sonos speakers should connect just like any other wifi device.
A:AnswerNothing if you had electricity to power in all speaker locations! Personally for rear speakers we didn’t have ceiling rear electricity so we utilized a Sonos amp and passive speaker which was expensive but less than getting electricity to these locations.
A:AnswerYou can't use both a wifi setup and a boost together. The Sonos will only recognize either wifi or boost Either use multiple boosts or extend your wifi. Extending the wifi is the best route but you must setup Sonos for wifi. It's in the advanced settings.
