QuestionCan I plug an FM antenna with a coax F connector into the receiver? It looks like this unit has some weird pin connector for the FM antenna. Is an adapter to a coax F connector included or available?

- Answer Hi Kismet, thank you for your question. This unit has a speaker impedance of 6 ohms – 16 ohms. Please check your speaker system if it matches the receiver. Please take note that matching speakers and subwoofer with lower impedance (ohms) and watts than what the A/V receiver is rated may cause damage to the receiver and is not recommended. ~Earl

QuestionI recently purchased this str-dh190 receiver. The Bluetooth and radio work great. However, when I hook up a cd player and a turntable and select the input I installed it on, no sound is coming out of the speakers. What am I doing wrong?

If there is no sound or only a very low level of sound is heard, no matter which device is selected, please follow the steps on the link below to resolve this issue. • Check that all connecting cables are inserted into their input/output jacks on the receiver, speakers, and the devices. • Check that the receiver and all devices are turned on. • Check that VOLUME on the receiver is not set to “VOL MIN”. • Press SPEAKERS A/B to select a setting other than “OFF SPEAKERS”. • Check that headphones are not connected to the receiver. • Press the (muting) to cancel the muting function. “MUTING” disappears from the display panel. • Try pressing the input button on the remote control or turning INPUT SELECTOR on the receiver to select the input to which you want to listen. • The protective device on the receiver has been activated. Turn off the receiver, eliminate the short-circuit problem, and turn on the power again. - Answer Hi Oxhead, You can improve the FM reception by following the steps below: Adjust the position of the supplied FM wire antenna (aerial) to a place where the reception condition is good. Place the antenna near a window. Position the antenna as horizontally as possible. Hope this helps! -Sam

- Answer Hi Vicki, thank you for your interest in the STRDH190 receiver. Unfortunately, you cannot connect wireless speakers to this unit. You can only connect wired speakers with a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms. This receiver is designed to receive a Bluetooth signal from a smartphone or tablet. It is not capable of transmitting one to a Bluetooth device such as wireless headphones or speakers. Hope this helps! -Sam

Due to the characteristic of Bluetooth® and other wireless transmissions, there may be a delay in playback due to signal interference or a slight delay when viewing videos. For optimum performance, it is recommended to use a wired connection (RCA audio cables) if the TV has RCA audio outputs. When you connect speakers to both the SPEAKERS A and B terminals, connect the speakers with a nominal impedance of 12 ohms or higher. QuestionNice rebuilt cerwin Re25s 100Wrms-6hms(150Wrms max) with a new Sony 2ch 100Wrms per chan @ 8ohms. With the miss-match and power loss due to the ohms will this reciever power the speakers properly without overheat or cutout? Can I add a amp to system?

- Answer Look for a different receiver. I returned it after 2 days and went back to my 30+ year old Sony receiver. I had it hooked to a vintage set of Fisher (15” woofer) , Technics (12”woofer) and Kenwood (12” woofer) floor speakers ( not at same time) and the sound quality was terrible. I also hooked it up to a set of Polk T15’s and Sony book shelf speakers which sounded better but still lacked in all area’s. Also the first receiver I bought wouldn’t turn on made the 45 minute trip to return it and grab a new one to simply repeat the process not 48 hours later but this time I asked for my money back.

QuestionIf I connect my phono to the phono input and my Cassette recorder/ player to the input 4 out and in jacks, can I then record from the phono to the cassette tape?? Then later play it back?

You will probably need to connect your cassette recorder to your phono/vinyl player to start recording. Please refer to your cassette recorder manufacturer for further assistance with this function.
