QuestionShould the HDMI deep color output be set to AUTO or off? Along with the display output being set to 4k?

- Answer The display output will only display 4K when the source material is 4K. Leave it in auto mode and let the player do what its supposed to do.

QuestionI've had my Sony UBP-X800 for 3 weeks. I've bought 20 4K UHD discs. 17 play perfectly. Fantastic Beasts, Deadpool and Kong Skull Island will not play at all. The Bluray versions do. Can you tell me what might be the problem?

- Answer I've had mine for two weeks and it has done two updates already. That might be an issue? Also check to make sure your connecting with High Speed HDMI 2.0 cables.

- Answer Because Sony has chosen not to support Pandora (and many other apps). I see someone from 'Sony Listens' commented that Pandora would be added with a future software update - but that was 4 years ago! I recently bought one of these players so I could (1) play BD movies; and (2) so I could use popular apps including Pandora. What I found was very few apps still supported. Boxed it up and took it back to the store. I honestly don't care if it sounds like a tin can ... Pandora and several other very-popular apps are missing. What I'll likely do is go buy a different player ... plus a roku or similar that has the apps I'm looking for.

QuestionHello. Does this player really delivers the Dolby Atmos sound? Own The Samsung UHD Player UBD-K8500 and Sound Bar HW-K950 (Dolby Atmos capable).Did all the connection with the right cables but never got the Dolby Atmos sound out of the bar. Need to know.

- Answer I have it connected through an Onkyo Atmos receiver, and yes, it does play Dts X and Dolby Atmos.

QuestionConnected via 4K HDMI cable to a new Sony 4K TV. TV audio connected to home theater receiver via digital optical connection. The sound level from the Sony - UBP-X800 is significantly lower than the TV stations or streaming apps. How can I fix that?

- Answer Does your receiver have any HDMI ports? The X800 has two HDMI outputs, one for both video and audio and one for audio only. The HDMI audio only is intended for older receivers with HDMI that do not support 4K, but can be used for Dolby or DTS audio processing. It might be time to upgrade your receiver. Does your receiver have HDMI that supports ARC (Audio Return Channel)? If so, connect an HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI (ARC) port to the receiver's HDMI (ARC) port and use that instead of an optical connection. Make sure HDMI-CEC is enabled on the TV, receiver, and X800. The receiver will recognize the ARC connection and go into a 'TV' mode for processing the audio from all sources connected to the TV. That will be a better solution than an optical cable.

- Answer Hi Beery, yes it should work very well with your Sony TV. In fact it will work very well if your TV is 1080p.

- Answer Yes this player can play 3D Blu-Rays and should work with your television. It cannot convert non-3D content, in case that's what you're after.

- Answer Thanks for your support Much appreciated Returned the tv and the bluray player for a clean slate since both were within the 15 day window Purchased the 850D and another x800 All running flawlessly just need to tweak to get a better picture and maybe a higher end to enhance the clarity and color brilliance

QuestionIs SONY working on a UBP-X800 VUDU UHD 4K Streaming App update (firmware)? Seems funny (not really $'s) that Amazon and Netflix got their 4K App's first. I have always owned Sony players but I might have to consider other brands in the future.

Questionwitch setting would be used for upscaling auto1 or auto2 ? is one set by default for only sony TV`S ? ours is a LG SUHD TV the player works fantastic but we are wondering witch one of these to set to.

- Answer Hi co61, I have read on the blu-ray forum and set mine to Auto 2. It will not upscale your blu-rays if it's only set to Auto 1.

- Answer Hi there! We do not recommend installing the player in an inclined or vertical position. It is designed to be operated in a horizontal position only. QuestionIs there an internet browser on the Sony UBP-X800 blu-ray player? I had to return my Samsung UBD-M8500 (which had a nice internet browser and other useful apps) due to other issues . I miss not having any browser on the Sony blu-ray.
