• A:Answer Swann DVR systems use BNC + Power cables just like on your old system. These days they are available in 1080p or 4K resolutions. Please note that your older cables may or may not work with today’s cameras, it would depend on the quality of your existing cables. Swann’s NVR systems use network (Ethernet) cables and have more advanced features and a more premium price point. -SD, Swann Team

Q: QuestionHow far can you run a wired camera from the main hub?

Network cables can be run up to 330ft/100m, for longer distances than that it is generally recommended to add a network switch before adding the next 330ft length, and so on. The cables included in our kit are 60ft/18m each, but we sell 200ft accessory cables too. -SD, Swann Team.

Q: QuestionI'm not a fan of the White cameras and White cables. Are there any color options?

• A:Answer Hi PAX. Sorry, Swann's NVR cameras and cables are all white in color. White is typically used for NVR cameras because it helps reflect the sun and therefore keep the inside of the camera cooler. The network cables are just standard ones so if you really wanted to you could purchase your own Cat5/Cat6 cables from elsewhere in a different color. But these cables are normally hidden inside a wall or ceiling so you wouldn't see them anyway. - SD, Swann Team

Q: QuestionDo they have option to turn on a bright light when there is motion (flood light)?

• A:Answer Hello Reyes. These cameras come set up by default to turn on when it gets dark but can be adjusted. The deterrent lights only turn on when there is motion detected, but you can control the duration the lights stay on through the Swann Security app. Additionally, you can disable the enforcer lights altogether from your recorder by going into Menu> Alarm>Deterrent settings. Q: QuestionIs the nvr wifi capable to connect to the internet...or does it have to have a wired cable to a router?

• A:Answer Thanks for your question. It is preferable to go with a wired cable connection between the NVR box and your router as a wired connection is stable and highly reliable. Q: QuestionWhat monitor can take as any f the 12mp resolution?

• A:Answer Thanks for your question. You can change the output resolution of the NVR depending on the resolution of the monitor you connect it to, but the maximum output resolution is 4K. The cameras can record at 6K (also known as 12 Megapixels), and the main benefit of this is that you can digitally zoom into recordings whilst retaining better image quality and clarity. -SD, Swann Team
