The differences between the two 36" gas cooktop models (SGSXP365TS and SGSX365TS) are as follows: Model #SGSX365TS has our Star® Burners, while model #SGSXP365TS has our Patented Pedestal Star® Burners. SGSXP365TS features an easy-to-clean QuickClean Base®, raised pedestal burners make it easy to wipe each burner clean, and a progressive light ring around each knob indicates which burner is in use, as opposed to model #SGSX365TS, which does not include these features. Additionally, SGSXP365TS has a more powerful 18,000 BTU center burner compared to SGSX365TS’s 16,000 BTU center burner. We hope this information helps and thank you again for considering Thermador.

Q: QuestionAre the knobs solid metal on the inside and not cheap plastic? Want to be sure knobs hold up - current cooktop are cheap plastic and need to be continually replaced (Kennmore)

• A:Answer For the stainless surface we use a soft dish rag with warm water and dish soap. No abrasive scrub pad! On the grill and gas diffuser however, a scotchbrite pad and soap works well.

Q: QuestionWhere is the down draft, is that a separate install?

• A:Answer Yes it’s a separate install. Issue with Thermador is even the 1800 bucks downdraft they sell does not come with the suction / blower motor / fan box, that’s another 800 dollars. So a new cooktop set up including installation costs no leas than 5500 dollars ! 2100 cook top, 1800 downdraft, 800 blower, 700-800 installation … I am still sticking to my early 2000s model in white that I want to replace but prohibitively expensive

• A:Answer it depends on the counter well size. the mechanism below the upper surface is smaller than 36" so it should fit. You also need to make sure that there is no moving part that can hit the bottom volume, such as a drawer
