QuestionIs the video capture motion detection only or streaming with playback (SD card auto overwrite)?

- Answer Hi! This battery operated camera will detect motion/activity based on the parameters set by the user in the Tapo app. When motion is detected, based on those parameters, the cameras can save recorded videos to a microSD card (up to 512 GB), or by using Tapo Care cloud services via a Tapo Care subscription. If using the microSD card option, once the card reaches its storage capacity, the newest activity clips will overwrite the oldest activity clips.

- Answer Yes you can review old videos from anywhere you have internet access on your phone. Remember that if your setting is to loop recordings over older videos then you might loose what you were looking to review. Downloading the videos you want to store for longer periods helps.

QuestionHow do you recharge the batteries, and how long does it take for a full charge? Lastly will the batteries ever need to be replaced?

- Answer It will take about five and a half hours with the original charger (5V 2A USB Charger) included in the product package. The batteries in the TC85 are non-removable, and are designed to provide reliable use over time. However, should any concerns arise, our 2-year manufacturer's warranty provides peace of mind.

QuestionWhat is the best memory card for the camera? Will a micro SanDisk extreme 512 GB card be fine or is an endurance micro SD better?

- Answer U3: UHS speed class: U3 indicates the cards speed. This card, will have the ability to record 2K and 4K video. A U3 card can record up to 30 MB/s. A2: Application performance class. There are two classes, A1 & A2. A2 is 2.5 to 4 times faster. This is the input-output, write speed of the card. V30: Video speed class I’m far from an expert, but I believe the U3 rating is the most important. I purchased cards from known manufactures that had both U3 and A2 ratings in 256GB & 512GB. I don’t think you need a pro/extreme/endurance card since the card will not be written to over and over. However, temperature might be an argument for one. FYI: Samsung EVO Select is exclusive, Amazon branding, and is identical to Samsung EVO Plus.

- Answer Hi! Yes, you can access the cameras from multiple phones. Depending on your management preferences, you either can sign in to your primary Tapo account on each phone for full administrative access on each device, or you can share your Tapo devices with family accounts by following the steps in our FAQ: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2613/ Family shared accounts will have access to the Live View, Talk, Voice Call, Pan/Tilt Control, and the SD card video Features of Tapo Cameras, but will be unable to change the other settings of the cameras.

- Answer No. A Tapo Care cloud storage subscription is only required for cloud storage. Local storage does not require a subscription; only a Micro SD card (not included).

QuestionCan these be separated at 3 different locations on 3 different wifi connections? OR do all 3 need to be on the same wifi? My personal shop is on its own wifi away from my house so I want to use them totally separate.

- Answer Yes, absolutely. You can connect each camera to a separate 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. As long as you use the same Tapo account during setup, they will all be accessible and manageable as long as the cameras and your phone have Internet connectivity.

QuestionCan the batteries be charged back up and lasts another three hundred days

- Answer The batteries can be recharged but you would have to dismount the camera and plug it to do so. I found that the camera does not last 300 days as it depends on the settings. But so far it has lasted a reasonable amount of time before having to recharge.
