Yes. If you leave the unit plunged in it will provide internet service continuously. How much data and slow-downs after a certain number are up to the carrier and plan you purchase. I am in a rual area and use it for my whole operation, laptop, couple of phones and my TV, all day everyday.

And I'm rural also, so this is pretty much all I can get for 'high speed' internet. I get 3-4 bars (Mostly 4) and have 'speed-tested' a few times. Anywhere from 10-30 MB per second. Mostly more towards the 30 MB mark. Now ... I bought the 'Unlimited' plan. ($80.00 a month) .. THEIR definition of 'Unlimited', is not my definition of 'Unlimited' ... 'Unlimited' for them (Verizon) is 15 GB per month. Using this for streaming (Like say Hulu or whatever) you're gonna eat the up pretty quick. Then .... You get slowed down to 660KB for the rest of the month. That won't work for if you want to use this for watching TV. Now, *I* only use it for internet. Even just surfing the net.. Face book ... Email ... some YouTubes ... iHeart radio ...etc etc ... I can usually stretch the 15 GB for the whole month but I fall short sometimes. Even at the slower speed, it's still fast enough to do 'normal' internet stuff without it slowing down noticeably. anyway, just know that even with the 'Unlimited' plan there is still a data cap, then slower speeds.
