QuestionFor model CS5129-26, I set the base volume to zero, but I can't silence the incoming messages! I read in the Q/A, Vtech tech responded to someone: Yes, one can turn off the incoming message. But no instructions, can you guide me step by step?

- Answer Hi - The VTech CS5129-26 has a call screening feature that will enable you to hear the incoming messages while they are being recorded. Here's how you can turn off the said feature. 1. Press MENU/SELECT on the cordless handset. 2. Press CID down button to choose Answering sys and then press MENU/SELECT. 3. Press CID down button to choose Ans sys setup and then press MENU/SELECT. 4. Press MENU/SELECT to select Call screening. 5. Press CID down button to choose Off, and then press MENU/SELECT to save. Hope this helps!

- Answer Mike - All our single line VTech phones with built-in Answering system has a message alert tone and a visual indicator that a new message has been left. If you are referring to a Voicemail service from your telephone provider, our phones have a new voicemail indicator on the screen only. You will also hear a stutter tone before the dial tone indicating you have a new message from them provided that they are sending the proper signal. Thank you! - VTech Support

- Answer My phone is wired thru the modem of my internet co , I am not sure why you would want it thru your computer unless placement is an issue? So answer short , not sure if it would work that way, you maybe should contact your cable/internet provider.

- Answer Ella - We are sorry if you are having difficulties turning off the Call Screening feature on the VTech CS5129-26. Here's the procedure on how to turn it off: Step 1: Press MENU when the phone is in idle mode. Step 2: Press ▼ or ▲ to choose Answering Sys and press SELECT. Step 3: Press ▼ or ▲ to choose Ans Sys Setup and press SELECT. Step 4: Press SELECT to select Call Screening. Step 5: Press ▼ or ▲ to choose On or Off, then press SELECT to save. You will hear a confirmation tone. Hope this helps! ~VTech Support
