A:AnswerSony has yet to release a list of compatible SSDs, but many are guessing this will be one. I would hold off for a curated list from PlayStation before I’d preorder or purchase one now.
A:AnswerFrom the reviews on best buy the box image from customers shows its a gen 4, but you’re right best buy needs to correct their specs information for this product.
A:AnswerNo, it does not come with a heatsink. From the reviews I have seen a heatsink is recommended. This drive does get hot in use. If there is one on the motherboard use that slot or buy a heatsink. You can use it without one but may run into thermal throttling issues with large data transfers and a shortened lifespan.
A:AnswerI would pop the back off your laptop to verify before ordering but based on a quick google search looks like their should be an m.2 slot on that laptop.

A:AnswerYour read speed is correct, your write could be related to programs running in the background or something like your OS being run from the drive you're testing (the SN 850) last but not least - if you're on a a PCI-Express 4.0 motherboard that isn't an x570 (like B550) it could be that you're losing some lanes to the combination of a graphics card in your PCI-Express 4.0 slot in addition to this card. For optimal performance a x570 motherboard where the drive is being run by the 4.0 lanes provided by the chipset versus the alternative M2 slot that is run by the CPU can give small gains!
A:AnswerI'm not sure if Best buy works out deals with people and companies to get discounts on things but who cares if you're saving money in my opinion
A:AnswerHello Sera, Please be informed “Based on Sony’s published requirements, we can confirm our WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD with Heatsink (500GB-2TB) meets the stated requirements to expand console storage on the PlayStation 5 for those with access to the PlayStation 5 Beta software. Compatibility testing is in progress.” We will upgrade that to yes it works once we are able to complete compatibility testing. It is important to not push non-heatsink since Sony specified heatsink version.

A:AnswerFrom the manufacturers website: Now works with PlayStation 5 console (Limited to beta users with compatible PS5 firmware). Add the WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD with Heatsink to your compatible PS5 console's M.2 slot to store even more of your favorite games with speed that you need to experience the next gen in its full glory.
So yes, but you need this model with the available heatsink. It is available on Western Digital's website. There is a version sold with an attached heatsink.
A:AnswerYes, that board will accept nvme drives, but only gen 3. This is a gen 4 nvme ssd. It will work, but it will be signifcantly throttled. Better to just buy the SN750 (gen3 version), it's cheaper and would pretty much work the same on that board as the SN850 would
A:AnswerAccording to the manufacturer this is PCIe Gen 4. Maybe the Gen 3 refers to backwards compatibility. I believe it will work with Gen 3 but you will not get the advertised speeds due to hardware limitations. So for Gen 3 I would get the SN750.
