Bought it on Thursday returned it on Friday. The directions were printed in tiny type and provided limited information. Just finding out how to attach the base required watching a third party uTube video. Once turned on the controls are hard to find and hard to use. I never could get it to work, So back to BestBuy where in a matter of minutes I replaced it with an HP Pavilion. Brought it home and it was up and running in minutes. Thanks Best Buy for making it easy to replace a purchase.

I recently bought two HP 24f monitors and this XF270H. The 24f's were fantastic. I wanted the XF because it rotates and it had high ratings. Well, the colors were terrible no matter what I did, no matter what settings I found online. The websites were also not clear. I kept the 24f monitors and returned this.

Good budget monitor for 1080p gaming

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this monitor to pair it with my gtx 1070 pc. I chose a 1080p monitor so I could play AAA games at high framerates and high/ultra settings. The stand is very nice with height and tilt adjustable features. As for the monitor, I had to return the first one because it had a dead pixel. The replacement is working fine. The only thing somewhat negative I will say is that color reproduction leaves something to be desired for but this is a TN panel so it's not really surprising. Yes the viewing angles are bad but really, who doesn't sit directly in front of their monitor? Viewing angles do not sell me on monitors. It's nice that it has a small speaker built in as I haven't purchased a speaker set yet. I'm pushing 80- 120 fps on newer games and 144fps on previous gen games with my gtx 1070 card. Even though I can't use free sync I haven't seen any torn frames at this high of a refresh rate. Overall I would recommend this monitor as I got it on sale for $200. My final thoughts : I am someone who is really big into picture quality and I wanted an IPS panel. However, no one makes a 1080p 144hz IPS panel. You have to step up to a 1440p monitor to get that but my gpu isn't powerful enough to push high frame rates at 1440p. For the ULTIMATE 60FPS experience I hooked my pc up to my old TV with HDR. WOW, it destroys ever monitor when it comes to picture quality.

Gaming from 75hz to this, it's worlds better!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was at the store for an hour debating on getting this or a Hp 27f, which was on sale for $139. The 27f was just 75hz with 5 ms response though. The display model they had to show had washed out colors an looked faded, so that scared me. But I took the chance an went with this knowing I can fiddle with all the settings. With this being $90 more I and suited my gaming needs, I was happy once I used it. People say all the time, once you go 144hz, you wont turn back... an they're all correct. Coming from 60-75hz panels from the past, this blew me away. It's like, the difference between 720p and 4k is enormous, going from 60-75 to 144hz is the same, just in a different way. Dont rely on the monitors settings to get the desired settings you want if you have a PC. I read a lot about how this looks terrible, colors werent vibrant an so on. The monitors options aren't that easy to navigate, you'll have to figure out some settings in there that help. But if your on PC just use AMD/Nvidia control panel. You can set your brightness, contrast and color saturation to your liking. An by doing so, this monitor became very vivid, colors were vibrant with high contrast and deep blacks, compared to the display model I had it looked TONS better. While gaming, you need to make sure your graphic card can handle 144hz constantly, some might need to lower your graphical settings from ultra to high, or high to low. I'm using a RTX 2060S and it handles Gears of war 4 with everything on ultra except for shadows and lighting was set to high. So far it stays at 144hz most of the time, I can lower a few more settings to keep it more stable. During Fortnite, I needed to lower shadows to high from Epic, an that helped keep it at 144hz. I wanted to see for myself if 144hz makes a difference... from what I read an heard, it helps getting those steady/smooth kill shots. An OH MAN, gameplay was so smooth... 3D like. The colors pop, shadows are deep black, everything looked 100 times better than my previous 75hz panel at the same brightness/color sat settings. I also got more kills in 144hz than I ever did lol. Everyone moved slower, or my reactions were quicker than theirs if that makes sense. I was so used to 75hz I'd have to anticipate where they might move next, but this panel I can see exactly where they are an where they plan on moving to in a instant. My eyes can catch up to their every movement. Which is why you get more kills. It's like I had quicker reflexes compared to them, maybe they are using 60-75hz, who knows right. I also tried out Forza Horizon 4, gameplay was also smooth in that. Felt more realistic than ever... passing objects or houses wasnt all blurred/washed out going 150-200mph, they were clear an detailed even though I was going fast. Everything was just better, it was a better experience. So, so far just by playing those 3 games since I bought this last night, I am VERY happy with my purchase, an this is well worth $229. I got the 4yr protection plan incase. So if anything happens in a year or sooner, I can always switch it out or get a refund. But I'm hoping this lasts a long time, because I wont be going back to 75hz ever again. Hope this helps fellow gamers.

Great Monitor but has 1 problem

This is a great monitor but if you have Windows 10 and play games.. the screen will go black for a few seconds with freesync enabled. this is a known issue.. look on Acer's forums.. Acer still hasn't released a driver for Windows 10 yet. You can for the Windows 8 driver though and that issue will go away but the average consumer won't know how to do that.
