Nothing Better for a Portable Music Library

I've had an iPod Classic for many years, and this was a replacement for one left behind in a rental car. I had many choices for a replacement, including the Nano and the Touch. Neither would have let me carry my whole library (>64 GB), so I chose the Classic. Since this model has been discontinued by Apple, and almost all inventory pulled from retail outlets, I ended up buying the floor model from my local store. I had not problems moving my music over from my laptop, and the "gently used" model I bought holds a charge for more than than hours of music (probably longer, but this is the longest I've tried).

The best sounding iPod ever owned.

In my opinion, this is the best sounding ipod i've ever owned. Had the 5th gen & mini ipod before & sound quality is incomparable (assuming you have good quality of music downloaded). And of course, you always get the apple's awesome build quality. Battery is surprisingly last long. The whole day of playing @ work & it only utilized about 25% (8 hrs. of playing). Match this one with a good ipod dock (ie. onkyo ND-S1) and you'll be very happy like myself. Although the thumbwheel is not so great sometimes & just wish they have put a custom equalizer so you can set your own but other than that i'm so happy with this purchase.

    Great durable MP3 player

This is my 5th Apple iPod. I started with the original and then moved to a video and then a touch and now this is the second iPod classic. This was purchased as a gift for my step-dad who had never had an iPod or MP3 player of any kind. I've had my classic for almost 4 years now and mine still works very well. The only complaint I have about it is that it's almost full so it runs a little slower than it initially did, but that is to be expected. My step-dad had never used anything like this before and after playing with it for a few mins was able to easily maneuver around with it. It has a great battery life on it. I would recommend purchasing different headphones for it though because the ear buds it comes with don't have very good sound and are uncomfortable.

160GB hard disk makes this another great product from Apple. Works good on a Sony dock, with Ford's Sync, and Chrysler's Uconnect. I noticed Uconnect takes about 30 seconds to detect my Ipod and does not let you voice command. Sync lets you voice command select any song on the Ipod. I have (2) Ipods, and use them every day. I recommend a Griffin leather case to protect the LCD (also sold at Best Buy).

Excellent product. I got this product the day before Apple actually announced they would no longer me making them anymore. I had one just like the one I brought that had died but was a much older model with smaller storage. I was so happy Best Buy had them in stock when I went to the store. I had heard rumors that Apple was not going to be making them, which came true since sales were down so low. I love this item. Very easy to use. I can store my whole music library on this little iPod. And it is so much easier to use in my car while I am driving than using my iPhone. I have music on my iPhone and I use that to play music. But not in my car. This is much more simple. And simple is safe when driving a care in rush hour traffic.

This is my 3rd iPod Classic - My first one was the first iPod. I used it for several years but ran out of storage so I passed it along to a friend. The second was an 80G that I bought in 2007 and it still worked great. Unfortunately, I just lost it at an airport. I only hope whomever found it enjoys it as much as I did. I thought I would wait a while before plunging into buying another but that lasted 2 weeks. I just bought the 7th generation 160G Classic. I can't live w/o them! They are durable and dependable. I load all of my music, audiobooks, podcasts, and recordings from seminars.

I bought this as a backup when I heard Apple would no longer be making this version. As someone who values space for music over the ability to have silly apps, this model is very much a part of my life. Anywho, eff you to the scalpers who bought these all up and then try to sell them on ebay for 3 times the selling price. I hope those of you who waited too long are able to find a reasonable deal on them!

This is it! You will never need or want to own another IPod once you have your hands on this one. This storage space on this Ipod can truly hold a lifetime of songs, books, videos. While it's a little larger than some of the others in it's family, the payoff is totally worth it, It's more costly than other Ipods, but with the memory space it you'll never look to buy another device. It's smaller that your Iphone in size, but large than a Nano. I truly will have this for life and will likely never look to buy another IPod. Worth the investment! I'll have this forever.

    Large Music Selection

I bought this iPod because I have a large music selection and wanted to be able to carry it around. And it does that, with tons of extra space. I have wanted one for years, and finally found a deal I was happy with. And it was worth the wait. I use it every day on my car ride to listen to Podcasts. My only regret is that I can't use GPS with it (which I knew). But I use it to ru=n, so I also take my phone along to get my run stats. Very happy with the device. Great battery life. Worth the money, if you have a lot of music that you want access to all the time.

    Most durable portable music player

I've tried several MP3 players and needed one with a lot of space, easy to use, and that would not break down or just plain die. After the first four died all within six months and I tried the IPod and it worked. Not only that, my first iPod classic lasted 3 months under 5 years before it was stolen. So I purchased a second. Apple is not my favorite company due to its insistence that for me to use iTunes cards I have to give it my CC number so I have gift cards I cannot use. The iPod, however, is a very nice product and it was not too hard to get my music back. For all that I don't like the parent company, I will continue to use the iPod for my music needs simply because I like the product itself.

It's easy to set up, although it took me a while to figure out how to sinc it with my computer since the directions were not very clear. But once I did figure it out, it was really simple to upload information to it. I'm not a fan of touch screen because of how easy they break, so I was glad to get a hold of this one since it holds so much and is more durable. I just WISH there were more options for good quality cases for it! I had an old Gen 2 model and that case fits even though it's not exactly a perfect match. What I LOVE most about it is the LONG battery life. I've only had to charge it once in the month I've had it. That's HUGE for me, especially on long road trips. My old Gen 2 had to be charged every 2 hours.

Well here I am on my fifth I-pod. Not because they have all stopped working (although my mini has) but because I want one for my son. If you look at the value this one is the no-brainer. It's $100 more than the 32G and it's 150! You can't use up that space with music. No, it does not play games but for what it's for: music, there is no equal. I have an (2) 80G that are both generations old and still going strong. Pricey? Maybe. But if you look in terms of storage and life it's the only way to go. Don't waste your time on smaller version. Go big or go home.

    Strictly for Music Lovers

The iPod Classic, to me, is for music lovers! It had a large capacity to hold all your favorites from your music library…and more! I love having most of my collection in the palm of my hand. And i can put on headphones and enjoy, or I can hook it up in our 2013 Honda Civic and have a never ending choice of what music to listen to. And with the Civic, the iPod connects to their USB hands free system….it even shows the album covers! The Classic has come a long way since the 2nd version o f the Pod i got in the early 2000's. It is more stable and easier to use. I recommend it for people like me who has a large music library and want to have access to it whenever they want! Thank you Steve Jobs, Apple.

I am a dance teacher so memory is important to me. The fact that this product has more memory than I could ever possibly use allows me to put on absolutely any music that I think I may want to use in class at any given time. My first one I had for over 5 years and used it every day for at least a few hours a day. So when it came time to get a new one, because the old one decided it was calling it quits, I didn't hesitate to go ahead and get another Classic. I'm sure it will develop small quirks, like my old one, but overall it's a great ipod.

Until Apple makes a bigger iPod Touch than 64 GB this is the best choice for you! I'm a HUGE music fanatic. After buying this iPod Classic I transferred my existing iTunes library to it which amounted to a little over 10,000 songs. This is awesome because now I can have my whole music collection in my pocket to take with me everywhere! This is well worth the money if you have a large music collection, like listening to music and don't care about running apps! I'm happy to be musically set for life(or until battery dies)!

    My first iPod!

This is my first iPod. What prompted me to finally purchase one is because I bought a new car. "What's that?," you may ask. Allow me to explain: The Pioneer stereo system in my new car is designed specifically for iPods. Previous to this purchase, I bought a Sony Walkman. The Walkman, I must add, is a wonderful product on its own. Unfortunately, most every MP3 accessory caters strictly to iPods. My car stereo allows me to connect my Walkman via USB, however it does not play all the music files stored on it. Thus, the decision to get an iPod. This is only my second Apple product (my first is an iPad Mini). I may be a late convert but I'm glad I came around.

    Great Massive storage MP3 Player

I would definitely recommend this to people who have a huge collection of music. My iPod touch, iPhone, none of those devices could keep all the music that I had on my iTunes. The iPod Classic was the solution such a basic mp3 player that can store everything. Just be careful with it because it has an actual harddrive (moving parts) so if you drop it, it will eventually break. the iPod is worth it if you really need it. If you don't have 100+ gb of music, you are better off getting an iPod touch or iPod nano.

One of the dinosaurs of MP3, but in a great way

Alas, poor iPod Classic... This is one of the last great dinosaurs of MP3 players, with a great control system (the click wheel) and a massive amount of storage. The only down side is that its heart is a hard drive, so this is not a MP3 player you use to jog around with, or one that tolerates drops well while running. It's really a shame that apple is discontinuing it, as there really isn't anything else with this level of storage at this sort of price point. Pluses: Huge storage Great controls Minuses: Not shock resistant Not something you strap on to jog / etc with Neutral: Uses iTunes, like all other iPods

I've been thinking for some time about moving to an iPod from cds. I love it - but I was lucky to have a friend who knows how to work iTunes. The iPod itself I am really happy with, also the docking station. I'm glad I spent the extra $ on the docking - the sound is great. I wish I could see how many tunes I have in my iTunes so I can check I have everything loaded. I never use song selection on the iPod, just play the next song...

I strictly use this for my car and its fantastic. I dont need the features of an ipod touch. Space is much more important to me. I like to use uncompressed music and the size limitations of an Ipod touch make this the smarter buy for me. I can have 40 gigs of uncompressed music with loads more space to spare. I hope apple doesnt discontinue this product as its more sensible for some people who also own an Iphone.
