Great for importing quickly to my iPad

I had no idea this item even existed until a friend recently mentioned to me that he imports his photos directly from his camera to his IPAD. For so many years I would have to wait until i arrived home from vacation, import my pics onto my desktop & this would take forever. I bought this adapter & called my friend to say "this has changed my life" lol

    Consider Power

This will work for connecting a powered camera to your iPad or iPhone but if you try to connect a usb thumb drive or similar, you'll most likely get a notice that it requires too much power. As long as you plan on using this to connect your camera via USB, it will work fantastic. If you want more versatility, then get the Lightning to USB3 adapter which allows you to connect both a USB drive and your Lightning power supply. This pass-through power allows your iPad or iPhone to read the thumb drive. With the new iPadOS coming this fall, you'd most likely be better off with the powered connector.

A necessary adapter for anything involving USB

This adapter allows anything with a USB interface to be connected to an iPad or other iOS device, although its main purpose is to connect a camera. I bought this for use on a cruise, planning to download all my pictures to my iPad. I also have a Lightning-to-SD Card interface, and I initially used that because I forgot to bring the camera cable. Once I got the cable, I found that transferring via the camera was faster than transferring through the SD card. That may or may not always be the case, so I think it makes sense to get both -- except if you don't use SD cards. The USB adapter is something I consider essential.

    Good Option

This is a good option but NOTE, if you are using anything with Power or long term use, I would recommend buying the adapter sold in Apple stores. That item has Power so it can feed the Phone and the hardware. That USB 3 Camera adapter allows you to connect External Storage devised (i.e Portable SSD's, or Microphones) where *THIS ADAPTER* DOES NOT!!! So just a word of warning based on what you are expecting to use this for.

Works well for moving Photos from your Camera

We were on a motorcycle trip and took lots of photos on our camera but had no way to transfer them to my iPad to share with family members as we progressed on our trip. With this adapter we were able to transfer the photos to my iPad, edit them, and upload to Facebook. Works great. My only complaint is that it only works with powered devices. This is a limitation of my iPad. We had photos on a USB drive we wanted to transfer as well, but received a message the device we were transferring from did not have enough power. Works great with our Nikon camera, but will not be useful for USB drives.

I got this to use a USB mic with my iPhone and at first everything was fine, but now the videos only have sound on one earphone when I play the videos back. It's very frustrating and I can't tell if it's the adapter's fault or the microphone's fault. Either way, I think this works as it should. I think it's priced too high, but I needed it, so I got it.

I’m sure this is a great purchase for many but it did not work from my iPhone to usb or computer. I tried to fix the issue several ways but unable to get it to work. I was bummed out since I was thinking this would make it easy to store my pictures to a usb.

I bought this after I learned that iOS 7 allowed the use of external DAC/Amps with the iPhone 5. It works great with my FiiO E17 and a small usb hub adapter. Nice, compact solution to get outstanding audio out of my iPhone 5.

I was super nervous buying this product for taking music off my iPhone and sending it to my McIntosh receiver via USB cable, as EVERYTHING says this is for taking photos off a camera to an iPad. I wasn't sure this would work, but there wasn't another option besides buying a streamer to send music bluetooth. IT WORKS PERFECTLY for sending the music to the McIntosh! Sound amazing, easy setup, and would HIGHLY recommend this product for a similar setup.

    Apple Lightning to USB Cable

I purchased this cable to be able to transfer information from a flash drive to my iPad. The iPad indicated it could not read the flash drive because of something to the effect of not enough power. Next step is to see if a self-powered USB hub will work. Overall since USB ports have been available on computers for many years, it is frustrating to have to buy a special cable to interface between an iPad and available input and output devices.

Though it may be called the USB Camera Adapter, you can use it with all kinds of products. I regularly connect keyboards, barcode scanners, and flash drives to my iPhone and iPad with this device and it works flawlessly. A definite recommendation if you don’t have a computer but do have one of those devices.

I like that it’s easy to use with my mic but i was looking for something that came with a charging port as well but luckily my Yeti mic doesn’t drain my iPhone 11 battery. I was able to use it with GarageBand for a few hours without any battery drainage. I have not tested it with video yet tho

I will be honest, I bought this hoping I could use my usb headset with it. The mic will work, but the audio will still come through the phone. With that said, it does allow you to use a Blue Yeti mic and does work with a usb flash drive. So, if you are buying for the uses it says it can do, you will be happy. If you want to use it with a Blue Yeti, you will be happy. If you want to use it for something else, it may not work, lol.

I bought this while on my way to a very last minute maternity shoot. My expectations were low due to a similar product I bought when I had my iPad 2. That item would not work with card readers, I mainly use compact flash cards. I now have an iPad Pro 10.5 and I don’t know if it’s the power of this iPad or a combination of the two but it worked with a card ready flawlessly!!! I couldn’t believe it. I thought I would have to plug my camera in directly which would have been a pain. I will test that out just as a backup option but so far I am digging this attachment!

My dad bought this for himself but since he's had it I've have the opportunity to use it on my own camera and I cannot even say how simple and fast it is to get the photos from my camera to my phone! I have always hated having to go to the kiosks near my house to print out photos when all I ever really wanted was to have the photos on my phone to send to my family! This small item has made this easier and now I am saying money, since I used to spend $10 alone a month on printing photos! I would really recommend this product as I am considering buying this item myself before I move to Houston!

I bought this to use with a cheap at Targus USB 2 card reader and it works well. Photos recognized it and pulled pics and vids off without issue. Note that you can’t use card readers that pull a lot of power and the USB 3 reader I tried didn’t work either. Apple limits the amount of power that a usb device can pull. So some testing is in order to find a combo that works. Fancy, expensive and super fast readers likely won’t work. But a cheap Targus reader I got for $10 at Walmart works great.

Bought this adapter to connect to an external dac rather than using the dongle. Some devices may require external power which this does not provide as it doesn’t have a lightning port. However, you can bypass that requirement via wireless charging. So it works as expected.

I just purchased a new iPad Pro and to my disappointment, Lightening attachments that let me load SD or Compact Flash photos no longer worked (They all worked on iPad Air systems). This connection allowed me to connect my Canon DSLR camera to my new iPad to transfer photos from the camera seemlesly. I recommend this, but disappointed that Apple changed communication formats such that old card loading devices no longer work

I purchased this adapter to hook a Dragonfly Red DAC to my lightning powered iPhone XS Max. The connector sets into the phone securely and the DAC is snugly held in the usb portion. There is no crackle or distortion during music playback and I’ve had no issues with quality of the plug. I do wish there were other colors or even just black. The white really stands out when attached to a black headphone cord.

Bought this to use a USB DAC with my iPhone and over the ear headphones. The DAC recommended the Apple Lightning to USB3 Camera Adapter cord. That was a more expensive and larger cord. The one I bought works perfectly. No need to spend the extra money and end up with a larger/bulkier cord.
