This is a great modem/router combo so far. I love that I can broadcast the 2.4 and the 5ghz network at the same time. Even have them set up as completely different networks. I use different devices on different networks so neither of them get bogged down. I haven't really got to test the wireless AC yet as I do not have any AC compatible devices. The only con to this router is it is massive and white. I prefer black hardware as it fits in better with my setup. The size isn't really much of a con for me as it is hidden behind my TV right now, but this thing is truly huge. At least double the size of a standard surfboard.
As for logetivity, time will tell. I have had several Motorola WiFi modems and all have stopped working properly after about 8 months, needing a reboot 5-6 times a day to start broadcasting again. I tried to buy a net gear modem but this is the ONLY wireless AC modem combo that works with my provider.

Unit was easy to install. I used it to update my previous modem and router. I connected my existing router connections to this new modem/router and had no issues with my connected units. I performed a speed test using (www.speedtest.net) and it had download speed at 7x faster than my previous modem. The only draw backs of the unit are: 1) puts off some heat so it will need some room to ventilate, 2) lights are pretty bright on the front and back, and 3) the size is about 5x larger than my previous modem. Although, I would still recommend this unit.

Read reviews on this modem before buying and thankful I did because it is definitely worth the money. Got tired of paying $10 rental fees from Xfinity for their modem and it always acting up. Now I have no problems and save the money each month. Great investment.

This all in 1, dual modem and router is the way to go. It is the fastest available for most general household users. AC+M makes it future proof. Set up was extremely fast and easy. Almost plug and go.

After renting a modem from the cable company for almost $10/mo, I decided to buy the bullet, and just buy one. It's been a great investment. Great speeds and very easy to set up with my existing account.

ROI on getting out of providers' rental fees make easy sense. Although this model is a little pricy. But if you are going to buy a AC wireless router anyways the cost makes sense to combine it with a modem. I would buy again.

This item may seem a little expensive, but if you factor in the price of a separate modem and wireless router it is comparable. The range is great and you have a modem and wireless connection capable of fast speed now and in the future, Definitely a good buy.

The Motorola Surfboard e extreme is a fast, easy to use router. I bought this router for the use with the new Time Warner Internet I had ordered. I ordered the 200 mbps package therefore I needed a router that could handle these speeds. Also, this router has the newest AC band for newer devices. The only negative was that the instructions gives a wrong password to enter the router. You will have to look it up on line, but it was easy to find. If you are looking for high speed Internet capabilites, this is the router. Just keep in mind, your devices will also need to be able to reach the same speeds. If they don't, the pricey router will not work up to its capabilites.

Purchase this Modem because I needed built in router capabilities also. Easy to set up and now I can connect all the devices I've accumulated over the years! A bit on the high side price wise but, with its capabilities well worth the price!

A very good modem . Very easy to install and setup. Will eliminate your lease fee for cable modem so in long run will save you money. The 5ghz makes for less interference than the 2.4ghz giving you faster speed

I was concerned about the high price but I called a friend who works for the local cable company and he assured me this was worth the money. I purchased it and have not regretted it. It provides a strong signal and my internet is super fast!

I bought this to replace my modem and router. It works great and seems to have improved our internet speeds, at least up to the limits of our internet service provider. I did have a couple of issues setting the product up. First was that I had to contact my internet provider to have them sign up my router and I had not had to do that with my other routers/modems. Once I got that figured out, things went somewhat better. Second, the initial password in the directions was not correct, but after talking to our internet provider, he explained that because another company had bought Motorola, it was the new password and not the original password for a Motorola router. Once that was figured out, I was up and running.

I'm glad we purchased this model. It was easy to install with our system and everything in the house is working so much better. We are going to purchase another unit for our summer home, since Comcast says that one is also outdated.

I have had this Modem for over a month now and I'm very pleased with it. I previously had a Linksys WI-FI router that could also broadcast 2.4 and 5Ghz, but there was always issues with it and in the end I just turned off 5Ghz in order to improve the 2.4Ghz. With this Motorola not only it streams in both bands, it also improved my whole house coverage, before I had spots with no signal at all, and now it is pretty good.
My only reason for giving it a 4 stars is related to the 4 gigabit ports, for some reason after swapping to this modem I feel that the devices connected to the gigabit port are slow, I haven't played with the settings to see if it can be improved.
Overall I would recommend this modem.

After using it for only a month, I am finding it is much better than my old rented time warner modem. I get much steadier speeds and no down time or having to reboot it.

Very relieved how simple this was to set up, had it running in 15 minutes, Comcast still needed me to give them the tiny numbers on the back but now I have a super router. I can get reception up to a block away!

The cable company's rental fee for the wi-fi router/modem combo had recently increased to $10/month, and it left a bit of a dead zone near the back of the house. I figured I could improve upon the signal with a more powerful device, which would pay for itself within 2 years because I could dump the rental fee. Setup was pretty easy, following the provided directions, and the dead zone has decent coverage now. It took me twice as long to have the cable company activate the new device as it did for me to set it up!
