This is an excellent dual band router/ modem combo that is perfect for home or the office. It does not have a range booster built in so it only gives you the type of range you would expect on a standalone router. But the built in modem can easily save you anywhere from $5.00 to $15.00 a month on your cable bill from leasing a company modem. It is worth the price. It is a high end combo that is solidly built and will do exactly what it is advertised to do.

Is it slim and easy to install and works great both in the basement and upstairs I even get signal in my garage

This modem is a beast. Bought it to replace the one TWC gave me. Although it is not on their approved list it works just fine. I have two other roommates on their Xboxs and Smart Tvs and it's able to handle us all. I am running 300mbps. Only negatives are the white color (which I've grown to like, it make it stand out more) and the size of it; it's pretty big.

I had been hesitant to switch out my modem because I thought it would be difficult and that I would create problems for myself. I read some of the reviews on this item and decided to give it a go. It couldn't have been much easier......just hooked up the various cords and on the first try, everything was up and running! It's really nice to have the modem/router combined. And it's also nice not having to pay a monthly fee for my modem anymore.

Very fast and reliable modem. Well worth the money. I first bought this modem so I didn't have to pay Comcast the eight dollars for the modem rental fee every month. Once I installed this modem I noticed that my download speeds doubled. Where I was getting 23 to 25 Mb downloads, I am now getting 49 to 54 Mb downloads. One thing to be aware of, the admin user name and password that is listed in the owners manual is incorrect. It's a typo. You will have to call Motorola's 24 hour customer service to get the correct password to login and manage the modem. The call to the customer service was pleasant, and the customer service representative was very knowledgeable.

This is the first time I have ever used a combination modem/router. I decided to purchase this model since I was replacing my existing modem and router and the total cost for the new ones separately was equivalent to the cost of this with a warranty. I have to say that I like the sense of one point of failure instead of two (with the separate modem and router). The modem itself should have been easy enough to set up however my service provider (Cox) kept having issues on their side. After performing a software upgrade on the modem, they were finally able to successfully activate it (two calls for a total of two hours). Setting up the router should have been painless however, the administrative password provided in the documentation was incorrect. I had to contact Arris (formerly Motorola) support to get the correct administrative password. According to Arris, the documentation has been updated with the new password however the systems have not been updated to reflect it. After that, setup was relatively easy. I had to figure out where some things were on the menus, i.e., where to change the administrative password, etc. Other than that, I reset everything to my previous SSID and WEP password and everything has been working fine. One good thing so far is that I have not seen a drop in connectivity on my laptop like I experienced with my previous router and modem.

I read the reviews which were pretty good, plus it's one of a few modems that work with my ISP. Works better than the one I was renting, now all our devices stay connected and we have high usage... couple cell phones, gaming, Netflix, and youtube on the tablet all going on at the same time!

I used the separate modem and router before with a different brand. I am surprised how this one work. The provider usually encourages me to upgrade my plan to access a faster internet but I am hesitant. Someone told me that old routers and modem just last for 3 years and I need to buy a new one. I bought this and was surprised that my surfing speed even get better at the same internet plan that I have.

I purchased this modem/router to replace the rented Comcast modem/router. In the long run, this router will pay for itself. I have the router on the middle floor of a trilevel townhouse. I'm able to get the wifi signal on all floors. Connected to the Ethernet, the speed is great as with the wifi. Make sure you don't place the modem/router on the floor or in a closet because it affects the signal.
