As usual Mr Haynes puts out more of the best new music you can find anywhere in the record store. This time he teams up with some bluegrass players and it works well. Not so bluegrass that a Govt Mule fan can't enjoy this CD just as much. Songwriting is awesome and a fantastic cover of Fleetwood Mac's Gold Dust Woman with Grace Potter sharing the vocals. Get this CD in your collection now. Won't regret it.

Ashes and Dust is an excellent addition to Warren Haynes' solo efforts. Usually a front man for the Allmans and Govt. Mule, this, his third solo album is a strong sustained example of his bluegrass/ rock roots. Accompanied by the band Railroad Earth on most of the songs, Haynes gives us an intimate feel for the american working man's story.

Warren Haynes and Railroad Earth make an awesome combination. They sound so good together. Love the bonus tracks, too. I wish more artists would make the effort to write liner notes. They really enhance the listener's experience. Buy it, play it, repeat.

I saw Warren perform tracks off this album in concert. I enjoyed the concert, but I enjoy this CD even more (the concert was more electric guitar, whereas the CD is more acoustic). Great CD for Warren Haynes fans.

I'm not really a big bluegrass fan but the edition of the band Railroad Earth really pushes this album into the stratosphere. Totally unexpected. The Fleetwood Mac song with Grace Potter is also awesome.

Great CD. Warren backed by Railroad Earth on this gem. This isn't Warren and his high powered Mule sound, this is Warren back to his roots. Some mighty fine stuff here.

Beautiful music by an exceptional musician. You can tell when a musician enjoys and feels the music when they play, even a studio recording.

A great album from Warren. A little slower than you might expect, but very well done. A bit of bluegrass, country and blues.

Sort of a laid back feel to the project, but very well done. I really enjoy listening to a differant side of Warren.
