I bought this to replace an older ASUS N900 router. After moving to a larger space, the old router only had coverage of the top level of my home. Speeds drastically dropped when heading downstairs, or in the basement. After some initial hiccups during setup, The Blue Cave has been awesome! Even though the router is upstairs, I have coverage and excellent speeds throughout all levels. The built-in security features also give peace of mind, and is a unique offering not available in many routers in this class. So far, so good!

I have used this for the past 2 weeks...no issuesl, but can be hard to set up the ASUS app (it has only 2 stars). You can set up security and manually check who's using your internet. Great device for a 2700 sq foot home.

    Great AiMesh Node

Currently using this as AiMesh node for covering my second floor. Great wireless speeds upstairs now compared to single router setup. I also have an Ethernet switch hardwired to the Blue Cave node which is also performing great. The primary router that my Blue Cave is linked to is an RT-AC86U. My concern about this Blue Cave router is it failing as a primary router in an AiMesh setup. I recommended a family member buy 2 of these Blue Caves to cover a large house using AiMesh. I spent about 3-4 hours trying repeatedly but couldn't get these to establish an AiMesh network. We returned one and now the single Blue Cave is working well for the front area of the house but weak in the back part. Likely going to try to replicate my setup at my sibling's home (RT-AC86U as the primary, Blue Cave as the node). Extremely frustrating not getting AiMesh working despite going through all possible trouble shooting steps. This is a great router for the price but beware it might not work as a primary router in an AiMesh setup.

Way faster with a lot less buffering. Only complaint is that it occasionally drops without reason but only rarely.

Purchased two of these to mesh together to cover my house. Easy to setup and configure, and seems to do a decent job of coverage. Throughput is good wirelessly as well. Lately i've experienced weird lockups, like every 3 days where internet stops working: a reboot fixes it, but strange and a pain in the butt. Hopefully it was just the latest firmware update and it'll be fixed soon with a patch. They look cool as well!

Nice features. Good speed. The parental controls slow the system and make it less desirable. I can play with the features a bit more. But when I was trying to set time limits, it rendered the computer so slow that we could barely use it during allowable times. Hopefully this will be fixed and I can get all the features of the router.

The router blends into the back drop of my current networking setup. This router does not have any preference loss due to the design. For my use there is more then enough bandwidth for all my portable devices. The web interface is easy to use and provides a good amount of settings for the average home user.

So far so good. The 5ghz speed is 3x faster than my old AirPort Extreme. Not getting the best performance on the 2.4ghz signal, but I haven’t messed with it yet. That’s where the missing star is. Great value for what I paid and it looks cool.

I caught this on a digital sale for a -great- price. It's a beautiful piece of tech. the LED effects look amazing. It had a few setup hiccups. The original software setup got killed by a new firmware update and I had to set it up twice after the initial. The original firmware sets up both 2.4 and 5g networks. The most up to date defaults to only setting up as 2.4 unless you hit a very easy to miss check box, so I had to set it up a third time to include that 5g network. After that it's been an amazing device. Streaming on my 4k Vizio P series is appreciably better in all respects. Less artifacts, less blur, even the audio seems to have less crackle and pop. I haven't had a single downgrade of streaming resolution since i got it either. I like it very much. Especially for the sub $150 deal I caught it on.

Worked better than my older asus. Much better coverage in house. I ended up returning for Orbi, due to better coverage of house and immediate improvement in internet speed to all devices. If you can spend a bit more get an orbi.

As a display piece, it's impressive design starts many conversations. I'm very happy with the router and its functioning; however, I had one heck of a time installing it and getting on-line. The short Quick Guide to install isn't so quick. I couldn't get the router to open, using either the provided url address or ones found on the web that were provided for various router models. I'll chalk the installation up to technical problems with my ISP.

This is a solid router but the 2.4GHz band has some issues since its a intel chipset, and heats up. Coverage wise, can cover 900sqft without any issue.
